Razorburns..BAD razorburns

Last Friday i came up with a great idea. I thought that mayby sauna is good place to shave ur head. Well, then i went to sauna and start to shave. I shaved all off and that felt great..for a moment. After few minutes It felt like my head was burning. There was 90 degrees..celsius and razorburns aren't nice even in room temperature. I have to run to the lake and stay there little while. My dome was red that whole evening..
Anyone else ever shaved ur melon in sauna?

I have a sauna here and shave in it several times a week and never had the reaction you describe I.G. Since you are a newer shaver, perhaps it is due to the tenderness of your scalp. It should "toughen" up over time. Try keeping a pot of really cold water on hand to rinse your head immediately.

Like I've said many times on here, although I don't know if it will help you though, but there is a chain of stores here in Canada and the US called "The Body Shop" and they have a product called "Razor Relief" and it really works great.

It does take your scalp a bit to toughen up. You might also be pressing down on the razor too hard. Take your free hand and stretch your scalp taunt in front of the razor, particlularly if you are shaving against the grain and let the razor rest on your scalp as it slides along

I have never shaved in a sauna. But here in the South, where the heat and humidity can bust you out in a sweat sitting still under the shade tree sippin' a julip, my head stings when I sweat for a couple hours after I shave.

Hmm, odd. I never shaved in a sauna...and I would probably think to do it AFTER I was in the sauna, personally. But thanks for the warning. Note to self: Don't shave while in a sweat tent.

Icing your pate after razor burn helps a little. I'm not sure what is causing you to get the burn in the first place but I'll bet you can avoid it with a few changes. One big cause for some is using regular face shaving cream on your head. Get some HeadSlick or Bald Guyz gel and see if that helps. Use good blades and not cheapos.
You'll get to the bottom of it!
Welcome aboard too!
