Antidote

Work is the last 6 month or so very "stressy"! Never ending working days and so on.

Yesterday in the evening my wife and me went in our opera-house and saw "A cinderella story" danced by John Neumeyer's Hamburg Ballett Company, Music by Sergej Prokowjew.

Awesome!!!! Wonderful dance, wonderful dancers, wonderful scenes, wonderful music. Seats in the third row. They danced just alone for us - we felt.

These are hours which are a gift and a real antidote for life's roughnesses.

Art is a powerful antidote for all roughnesses of life.

Last week we visited a great retrospective exhibition of the American abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko in our Art Museum.

After the first shock - especially the big one-coloured paintings are exciting!

Art is a powerful antidote for all roughnesses of life.

That is really true joerg.  Teaching in a Chicago suburb we are blessed to have the Art Institute of Chicago within field trip range.   I have taken my behavioral students there many times and it is amazing how involved they become when they view great works of art close up.
