I have to laugh at us bald guys.

So as I read the forum I keep noticing words like 'exfoliation', 'moisturizer', 'sensitive skin', as well as lots and lots of talk about various products and skin care regimens.
Before I shaved my head I would not have normally associated any of this with head shaving, let alone the pictures I see next to the posts. I mean, a photo of a 250 pound guy with a big old goatee and no neck talking about sensitive skin and exfoliation just caught me off guard.
I don't think it's something you really understand until you bear your otherwise protected head to the elements and shave off your hair. It didn't take long for me to realize just why all of this is so important. I actually caught myself talking about moisturizer while having a beer around the campfire last weekend after someone asked what I use to shave my head.
For whatever reason, after the words 'it has moisturizers in it' left my mouth I paused, looked at the blank stares I was getting and quickly changed the subject before someone started painting my nails.
I guess it's going to take some getting used to... I mean, I thought my arsenal of products was going to decrease yet here I am buying twice as much crap.

You know, Lucky, I kind of went through the same thing. When I was thinking about doing it, one of the reasons that drew me towards headshaving was that a shaved head was low maintenance, or so I thought. But in all reality, for some of us, it takes a decent amount of effort to keep that sly dome looking good.

If it was any other place I would feel strange talking about skin care products. then again, one of my friends and I tend to go shopping for candles once every few weeks when we have nothing to do, so i know what strange feels like.

Yeah, I think I got so used to it here. Not that there's anything wrong with talking about skin care anywhere else, it's just not the norm for most guys in my experience. Had their been other head shavers around the fire it might have went a little smoother hahaha.

It does take some time and effort, but I think the payoff (looking good and shiny; and don't forget the headrubs) is well worth it.

I try to keep shave time to a minimum.
I woke up late today, and i think i set a record for fastest get ready time, I showered, shaved, got dressed, and was out the door in 8 minutes.

I'd be a bloody mess if I did that...literally

A friend at work gets gleeful laughter out of my stories about why I come to the site. I just tell him cause I know it will make him laugh, and laughter is good for everyone.

Yeah, it's pretty funny when you step back and think about a bunch of big, macho, bald guys talking about exfoliating and other stuff.

I get so much crap from everyone I work with about this site and all that goes with my headshaving, but who the hell cares like J said it keeps them laughing and laughter is a good thing.
I think luckey was talking about me with the big dude with the goat talking about exfoliating

Who doesn't work on their physical appearance to some degree? I mean, I know that men and women exist who just wake up and don't clean themselves and head out the door, but I would rather not have much to do with people who care so little about themselves that they don't at least TRY to look nice.
I spent just as much time and money before going bald as I do now.
