OK, I shaved it..
« on: July 05, 2008, 08:56:48 AM »
 :XX

Hi guys, long time no see, some of you might remember me from a while back, Ive been on the fence a long time, buzzing to a number 1 since about last December and a 0 since about 2 months ago.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I was in hospital for a few days and didnt get a chance to buzz for about a week, by the time I checked out, things didnt look good, from about half way down the back of my head my hair seems to be alot darker and thicker, I noticed for the first what looks like a line around the back at about ear level, above which nothing much seems to be growing.

Anyway last night I shaved my face, had a nice hot shower, got out, lathered up and shaved the dome and jumped back in the shower to rinse.

Seemed to go ok, no cuts and no bumps the next day, I was scared of razor burn because Ive had that on my throat for 15 years, I did however have a few rough areas, probably from going with the grain at times and a dark shadow on the scalp a few hours after shaving, Im sure I will get better at it.

So here are some pics.

Congratulations on finishing it off.  One year is a long time to be on the fence!!  Sounds like a pretty successful first shave, and I've noticed it only gets easier.  If you've been around since last Dec. I'm sure you know about the shaving routine section.  There are some great tips on there for achieving the perfect shave.

Welcome to the sly side.

A year on the fence??  Hell, I spent four years on the fence!   :)  The important thing is that you got there in the end.  It looks great.  Enjoy your new-found freedom from thinning hair.

So far so good, second shave last night, some how I knicked the skin between my ear and head with the razor and boy oh boy did it bleed like crazy, the funny thing is no one has commented or even looked twice at me since I shaved it, my Mother didnt even notice until I told her.

Kristian, congrats bro!!!  Looks great man!  I kinda went through the same thing when I finally went sly - I had been buzzing for a few months and once I finally did shave, I had to ask people what they thought because no one really noticed.
