What kind of jobs do you have?
« on: June 28, 2008, 06:22:53 AM »
Just wondering what type of work everyone here does. I have been in pest control since 1987 but looking at making a career change.

Well, as most of you know, I work Border Patrol up here in the great white north.  :popo

:Xo! And to answer that question everyone always asks me, NO, we don't do cavity exams!  If I wanted to be sticking my hand up there I'd have become a proctologist!  :Xo!

Hey Jer..Thought you would get a kick out of this. My brother-in-law worked for over 20 years as a corrections officer. Shortly before he retired he was having dinner with my sister and she asked him if there would be anything about the job he would miss. He told her that he certainly was not going to miss having to perform cavity searches. Without hesitation she said "Honey, you never told me you had anything to do with inmates dental problems." He stopped and realized he never told her about THAT part of the job...lol. Needless to say he waited until AFTER dinner to explain to her what cavity searches with prisoners actually was.....man all I can say is I wish I had been a fly on the wall to see her expression. ;D

I sell wine for 13 small vineyards in the Napa Valley. It's the only job I ever had where it is encouraged that you drink on the job. What a country! O0 Of course this is after doing 10 years in the US military and retiring from the computer development industry in 2006. :P

I'm ICT Director for a software company.
If my wife is asked what I do for a living she tells people "He drinks coffee and shouts at people".  It's close enough.

i work for an environmental waste company. we take in the waste and send it to our processing facility in tx. not glamorous but it keeps the rigs from dumping the crap in the water and polutting the water. so it makes me feel like i am doing my small part for the environment.

Naw...I'm a person that really thinks it's important to follow through with all the life ideas that cross your mind...you know no regrets...

well, I had made an off the cuff remark that I wanted to retire at 40...well in a way I stuck to it...haven't been working for anyone for the past year and have survived!!!

I'm enjoying our new son (which I think the early years are SOOO important) and I'm able to get off the "merry-go-round" that is all our lives...a good time to take a breath and reflect and see what I want the next 20 years to be like..

don't know and don't know when I'll have to work...

but to my word...I retired when I was 40!!!!....

at least for one full year! ;)

No regrets!
