I never got weirded out about others seeing me shaved, I couldn't wait for the reactions, good or bad it didn't matter to me, its what I wanted.

I suppose it doesn't matter so much when you're not that good looking to begin with.   >:D

(Just kidding, bro ... I'm in the mood to take cheap shots at somebody (anybody) and this was just an easy target.   ;D )

Very convincing advice bros -- thanks for the input. You all are looking great with the shaved domes. It's 102 degrees today and I'm a lot closer to taking the plunge and ditching this rug. 4th of July weekend is a very long one for me, so perhaps I might do it then.

Anyone done any polling here on how many sly guys are MPB or just like the look? Since I'm very MPB, another question I have is how often do you all have to shave to avoid the MPB shadow? In my fantasy land I think that most people don't know I wear a rug, so want to avoid the shadow for awhile until I'm sly for a long time.

Another question, do you ever get a twinge of apprehension when you are planning to meet someone you haven't seen since your slyness?

Tell you what. I'll put up a poll to findout how many of our Brothers are MPB vs BBC. O0

I also have some examples of friends of mine who are Sly and overweight.  I think that they all carry off the Sly look well!  I know that many of you have seen these pics before.  But the first pic was taken yesterday at my church's baked potato feed!  YUM!!!  Talk about getting overweight  The black Sly fellow with me is named Atlas.  The second pic is my buddy Ted.  Big improvement over the non Sly look.  Third is a fellow named Ray, who is one of my "twins".  Last pic is a fellow named Tom.  In all these pics, the men are all overweight and Sly.  So as you can see, that one should not wait to go Sly until one loses weight.  Just lose the weight for your health.   But not so you can go Sly

Welcome NWTRNR!!!  As usual, the guys have given you some great advice.  I encourage you to try it this weekend, July 4th (maybe a head start on the 3rd).  Buzz your hair with "0" gaurd and take it slowly for the first time.  Get a little sun, but use sunscreen.

I think your weight issue will be helped by the confidance you'll have from your new SLY look.

Welcome NWTRNR!
Take a look at my posts from last week and this week. I am new at this as well and you can see from my picture that I am not a skinny "rail" by anymeans. I need to lose about 30 lbs to get where I want to be. After going Sly your attitude about yourself is much more confident and you might find that it is the best first step to dropping a few pounds.
I know what you are struggling with. It is a lot easier than you think it is! This is a great forum and you could not ask for a greater group of friends........I mean that sincerely. Their advice is right on the mark and very comforting to anyone thinking about going sly.
Go for it.......you won't regret it!
It's not what is on your head that makes the person.......it's what's inside.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with being a little over weight... my daddy used to say "son, you can't drive a spike with a tack hammer"!  :*))

A few pounds overweight, SLY and proud of it here

Thanks again sly bros. As you can see from the other discussion and my new profile pic -- I've shaved -- and since the buzz I've actually been much more comfortable at the gym. Very nice not to have to deal with hair there all sweaty and then having to style it, etc. Such a breeze to just pat dry, get dressed, and be done with it!
