Barberette, you may re-think what you just said after reading what we said about Carlin and his comments about white guys shaving their heads.

No one is denying the fact that Carlin was funny. It's just that his humor was edgy and often very controversial. Before he made those remarks about us SLY guys he should have taken a closer look at himself.
He had all of us fuming.  :Xo!

71 years old. I'm glad he lived as long as he did. We saw him here in MN a couple years ago. Funny as hell. He said things that most people are afraid to say. RIP George.

He was one heck of a funny guy for sure, he will be missed.
His views certainly made you think, and his delivery was great.

Koz, I agree on the "stuff" bit, that one always makes me laugh.
He had so many great bits it's hard to pick a fave.  ;D

Have you seen this Carlin bit?

The Hair Piece
http://www.themadmusicarchive.com/song_details.aspx?SongID=8939

I'm aware some stare at my hair
In fact, some really despair of my hair
But I don't care
'cause they're not aware
nor are they debonair
In fact, they're just square
They see hair down to there
say BEWARE and go off on a tear
I say "No fair"
A head that's bare is really nowhere
So be like a bear
Be fair with your hair
Show it you care
Wear it to there, or to there,
or to THERE if you dare
My wife bought some hair at a fair
to use as a spare
Did I care? Au contraire!
Spare hair is fair
In fact, hair can be rare
Fred Astaire got no hair
nor does a chair
or a chocolate eclair
And where is the hair on a pear?
Nowhere, mon frere
Now that I've shared this affair of the hair
I think I'll repair to my lair
and use Nair, do you care?

Carlin was amazing. Some of the funniest comedy skits I heard over the years were by him. One of my favorite skits was the one about "Stuff".

I always thought that it was both funny and ironic that he had a major part on a children's show (Thomas the Tank)for a six or seven years.

That was on my favorite Carlin skits also.  He was "intelligently funny". However, I always remember that Carlin didnt serve with honor in the military, receiving a general or dishonorable discharge and I believe he boasted about that and all the discpline issues he had in the military on his website.  You can serve in the military and you can serve with "honor". There were parts to him that I had no respect for.  And I guess Im a little different.  I dont think being strung out on cocaine making Saturday Night Live is funny at all. Guess Im not cool....
