new here and newly buzzed
« on: June 22, 2008, 09:04:13 PM »
What agreat site you have here. Been lurking for a while and decided to introduce myself. Just used a Remingtin Short tonight on the second to lowest setting they call 1.5. My hair was about a half to .75 inches long earlier. Let me know how it looks and how much more I should move toward being sly. I have thin hair anyway and had a few transplants done 10 years ago but without much of a true thickening effect.(dont even think of it if anyone is). It is becasue of that Im reluctant to totally shave down. I tried once on vacation and loved the feel and the look but from the back there are obvious scars. Anyway I plan to keep buzzed at least this short for awhile and see what happens. Also discovered Tanning Towelttes at Target and wiped myself down with one earlier so starting to get some tan on the dome from that. Itis not bad and looks like I was out in the sun over the weekend. The pic quality is not great but it gives you an idea that I have a full hairline but just thinner.

Thanks for the great site and looking forward to being here if not totally sly.

Gotta agree. This is what happened to me. Buzzed it, hung out here, went sly.

Welcome to the board!

welcome chgobuzzbald! fellow transplantee here (retired=lol). Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions as to how I did it with a whole mess of late 1970's transplants.

Welcome chgobuzzbald.

The buzz-look is good, but maybe you will eventually go farther shave your head clean. Let's see.

Glad you found us here!

chgo, dude if you're not a Johnny Travota double.

Congrats to you for buzzing your hair down.
That's something the real Travolta should do.

Welcome chgobuzzbald!

Hey, I was wondering, what company did you use for the Hair Transplant?  And it sounds like you had a bad experience...did you ever go back to see what you needed to do to make the hair fuller?...I assume more hair transplants....also, did you meet anyone there that had better results and were happy with it?  I'm just curious because I feel like in forums, people say what bad experiences and unhappy results they've had which contradicts of course the commercials for Bosley and there supposed testimonials of happy patients, but I've never spoken to anyone who was happy with the transplants....also you said 10 years ago, so I'm also wondering if things have improved since then.  Well, aside from my curiousity there cuz I won't lie, I'd rather have hair....but I've shaven too and somedays I like it, somedays I don't.....but to comment on your pic, you look like you rock the buzzed look well and I think it would look even better bald....I'm curious to know how your scar looks in the back....oh and tanning wipes sound like a great idea to get rid of that initial eraser head look!  :*))

Had transplants 30 years ago. They came at a price--------------and a painful one as I had most of them reversed back in 2005-6. I have punchhole scars in the back and had to have surgery, laser and dermabrasion to even out the top of the scalp. Cost me $4k. And the pain was not good. Stay away from hair tranplants unless you're in the acting business.

I got 25 years out of the tp's and then my hair receded badly over a 2-year period.

Welcome to the SBG site, buzzbald. Glad you chose to join in and take it down close.
Now the next step is to grab your blade of choice and shave it smooth.

It's going to look fine, you just have to do it. You said you loved the way it looked when you did it while on vacation. In a few days time you will feel more comfortable with your new look. You will feel free.

Enjoy the forum.
