A change in attitude.
« on: June 22, 2008, 12:09:18 AM »
Yesterday at work I needed a crowbar to break down a large pallet.  I went into the warehouse to retrieve it and there were a couple of young guys in a really nice F350.  While I was trying to find my crowbar I couldn't help but notice that they were making fun of my appearance.

Yes, I was annoyed, but I had more important priorities.  After finding my crowbar, I was walking towards the two "kids" in their nice truck and I stopped to ask them if they needed any help.  "Uh...........No........Sir...........Someone else is taking care of us........Thank you sir"

Their attitudes had instantly changed?  The situation got awkward.  I gave the driver a reassuring pat on the shoulder and replied, "No sir.........THANK YOU!  Have a great day...........MEN!"  I went back to my other duties, wondering what had come over those two?

I'm not a big man, 5'7" 190lbs.  I'm in good shape, but you can tell Mrs. buuckkweet is a great cook.  My outward appearance is anything but intimidating.

Maybe they were overcome by my Slyness.  Maybe it was the crowbar resting on my shoulder.  Maybe those two learned not to judge a book by it's cover.....Maybe. >:D

Most hecklers or bullies are cowards who will back down when confronted.

Or maybe it's YOUR new confidence that kept them at bay...

Like you said it wasn't the outward appearance SLY gave you...it's the inner SLY that shaving your head gave you...

and they saw that once you approached them...

NICE!

It was the "crow bar" and not your sly head that intimidated those bullies.
Every time I try to get bad-ass my wife breaks out in laughter. :x!
Next time I'll have to try being a bad-ass with a crow bar in hand.

Very nicely done.  Definitely a combination of crow bar and cool Sly attitude and confidence that got them!
