Sly for one week
« on: June 18, 2008, 07:59:27 AM »
Hi everybody,

I have been clipping with no guard for about a year now and it has been one week since I finally went sly.  For the first few days I thought my skin would never survive this idea but thanks to you guys I started using aloe vera and my dome looks great.  Thanks for being here to help me find the guts to finally get smooth.  I have found so much good advice here and look forward to hanging out from time to time.

Cheers!

Hey Glassdragon,

Welcome to the Sly Bald Guys forum.  I've only been Sly for 18 days myself.  Before that I buzzed it to stubble for about two years.

You've got the noggin lookin' mighty slick.

Welcome to the board. Your pic looks like you've been shaving for a while.

Welcome to the SLY side glassdragon. 8) Your slick noggin looks great. High praise for the Aloe Vera (keep it in the fridge it'll feel even better when you put it on your head).

Thanks to "you guys"?? You've got to give the credit to where the credit is due. Aloe is and always will be TimmJ's secret weapon. He may not be here in person, but he's here in spirit. You'll have to thank Tim when he returns from his long long long VACATION.

Dragon, needless to say that the aloe adds an extra shine to the glass. Welcome to the fold, GlassDragon.

Glassdragon, welcome to Sly Bald Guys!  Your dome looks awesome!  No visible shadow from this point of view.

Thank you so very much for the compliments everybody.  This really is quite a fraternity.  I never would have guessed one could get so much support about such a thing.

As you suggested Mike, here are some specifics:

36 years old
Originally from Minnesota, lived ten years in Alabama and just moved to Colorado Springs in January.
Divorced for a year and a half now (sly is just one more thing I wouldn't have gotten support on in my marriage!)
I have two boys age 7 and 10 and absolutely love hangin' out with them and exploring the mountains!
I run a respite (short term care) program for children, ages 5 to 21, with special needs.  Hopefully I will be in graduate school for clinical psychology in January
Primary interests:  hiking, downhill skiing, camping, painting, philosophy,
human development, psychology

There you go.  Thanks again all.

Quite the fraternity indeed. Not to be over dramatic or anything, but for many, going Sly is life changing, both physically and mentally. Personally, it's been a positive change, made possible by many of the individuals on this board.

Hey, Glassdragon.  Welcome.  Great looking dome you got there.  Would never have thought you were a sly newbie.  You look like you've been sly for years.
