Jack Black Beard Lube (Conditioning Shave Creme)
« on: June 17, 2008, 07:06:13 AM »
I was in Nordstrom on Saturday getting some Jack Black All Over Wash.  The sales person in men's grooming gave me a sample of Jack Black Beard Lube.  This is some seriously slick stuff.  I used it this morning to follow-up my head shave after my electric razor.  The Gillette Custom Plus 3 cleaned up my headshave with no irritation at all.  I'll be giving this creme another try tomorrow when I do my headshave with a blade.

Not to get off track here, Red, but any experience with this stuff?

I know you use an electric so I was wondering if you ever tried this stuff

That's weird, it shows up for me. But it was the Jack Black Electric Shave Enhancer. Sounds like it might work well with an electric shaver. I like the fact that it has witch hazel in it as well.

Sounds like they have some good stuff up on their site.

Sorry James, I see the problem.  I'm at work and our firewall blocks the Jack Black website.  Go figure.

My pre-shave regimen is a nice hot wash with Bald Guyz Head Wash, then ten or so drops of Anthony Pre-Shave Oil.  I'll check out the other Jack Black products when I'm home and can get to their website.

Ahh gotcha, no worries. Many of my favorite sites are blocked here at the client site as well...YouTube, Facebook, etc...basically anything that helps kill time during the day. Thank god SBG isn't blocked!

Nordstrom! Fancy sunglasses!

Sir you certainly live the life of the rich & famous. I bet you own one of those condos on Lake Shore Drive.

Why Nordstrom. Can't you get yourself to over to State Street and shop in Macy*s. I still refuse to go in that place. Nothing was more Chicago than Marshall Field's, except for Wrigley Field of course.

May I suugest Lord & Taylor on Michigan Ave. They have some very nice
high end shaving products. Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death! Go ahead indulge yourself. Yes! Live!

Sorry Ben, I live in the humble suburb of Arlington Heights.  All of these products have fixed retail prices so it doesn't matter if I buy them at hoity-toity Nordstoms or Lord and Taylor.

I won't defend my indulgence in expensive sunglasses.  It's just one of those luxuries I allow myself.   8)

Maybe we can find some common ground:  GO CUBS !

Thanks for the review, Darrell!  I really like the Jack Black All Over Wash - which I got for the first time a few weeks ago from the only place that carries it around here - a hoity toity place that I never went to called Craig Allen Men's Fine Grooming.  With my inked sleeves, bald head and beard they looked at me like Satan himself walked in the door.  Then they sold the 3 oz. tube for $10 - which has an MSRP of $6...   >:(

I'll have to order some of the Beard Lube and try it out!  What I can tell you is NOT to use the Jack Black All Over Wash to wash your beard/stache - man does that stuff leave a nasty taste in your mouth all day long - my toothpaste and Scope couldn't even get rid of it!   :*))

James, checked out the Jack Black site when I got home.  That does sound like an interesting product for us Electric Razor users.  Next time I'm at the mall I'll see if any of the Jack Black retailers have samples.  I'm convinced I'm going to be an electric razor headshaver.  I just can't get it smooth enough with a blade.

Yeah I might try the same. I'm really eager to take my electric out for a spin on the 'ol noggin, but I def want to use something to help protect against irritation.
