I'm a little unclear as to whether the "why aren't you?" refers to "why aren't you invincible?" or "why aren't you 18?"  Either way, I'm not sure what the answer is.    :-\

Yeah, I was worried a bit about the grammar in that sentence, knew it was a little unclear. But oh well :)

No, it's really not unclear ... I'm just being a smartass.    ;)

Excellent post Scotsman!   O0

Here's another one of our younger guys who just gets it. Great attitude, and it should be how more people live their lives.

This should be posted on the home page, and send a copy to yep yep while you're at it!

You have pretty much summed up what "sly" is, good job bro!     O:O

10 feet tall and bulletproof..I remember it well.

My thoughts exactly....

Good post, Scots.  No doubt that foundation will serve you well, brutha.  But life has a way of blind siding you....sucker punching you......kickin' ya in the f***n NUTS, man......testing that foundation like you wouldn't freakin believe.

The "invincible" part is a better self image than viewing yerself as inadequate or inferior...but I wouldn't throw that around TOO much.  Life, again, has a way of saying, "Invincible are ya?.....how'bout THIS !!!...BLAM."

This pic to the left was when I was 22 or so....INVINCIBLE...everything was goin' my way, man.....fast chicks, fast cars, etc...   I'm now in my 40's and have been beat up and bloodied (as many of us have around here).  I'm actually a little embarrassed about my world view back then.

However, my foundation--similar to yours--has served me well though to carry on and not despair when life sucker-punched me or kicked me in the nuts.

I Definitely don't mean to be a wet blanket or take away from your well-reasoned thoughts and attitude.  You're better suited and armored up for the battle than a lot of 18-yr-olds.....now comes the BATTLE, brutha. O0

Someone definitely needs to send this to Yep-Yep

That is truly one of the top posts ever written on this board as it relates to building confidence.  I'm not sure what what "situation(s)" has led you to this conclusion, but it was truly a blessing to your life.  Like Robmeister said, you will have life sucker punch you over and over, but this is the attitude that will provide you the ability to become stronger from each punch.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Great post Scotsman! It takes a lot of people many years to figure out that their life is about themself, not others. Way to go!

LOL....That sounds OFF if you didn't know the context.

Self-Centered?  or Others-Centered?......Self-Centered = BETTER ??  :-\

Yer saying that it's about what you think of yourself....not what others think of you.
