New Member Intro

Hey guys,

I'm a brand spanking new member and actually today is my first day being shiny.  I have been wearing a crew cut for a while and today I actually took razor and shaving creme to my head.

I'm 44 years old and married for 16 years with a 13 year old daughter.  I could not believe the reactions I got.  My wife and daughter HATE it.  I can't believe how much.

People at work either loved it and/or hated it.  One woman told me I look like an Ax Murderer.  Real nice.

Oh well, not sure if I'm going to stay shiney or let it grow back into a crew, but to be honest I'm totally shocked how people reacted.  I must look real bad because baldness is very in vogue now and I dont' even look twice at a bald guy in the street.

Oh well thanks for letting me vent and introduce myself.

stemikger, welcome to Sly Bald Guys!  Sorry to hear that your wife and daughter are not big fans.  I'd give it 30 days to see if they can adjust and to see how YOU like it.  I'm shocked at the reactions also, as most guys have very positive reactions.

Welcome!

Most guys can pull the bald look off very well. I would suggest sticking with it for a week-a month and see what it's like. Maybe a pic would help  :)

stemikger:  welcome 2 the sly fraternity.  sorry 2 hear 'bout the negative vibes.  like tyler said... give it the 30 day trial, that's the unwritten rule here in the SBG forum.  after the 30 days... one will B able 2 decide whether 2 keep it smooooth or grow it back.   you've mentioned the reactions from your family & others; however, you've neglected 2 let us know your own reactions 2 your new look.  do U like it?

Hey Warhawk,

To be honest, I'm not sure yet.  I'm trying not to let the negativity get to me.  I will take Tyler's advice and give it the 30 day test.

Thanks.

Welcome here.  Sorry to hear about the negative reactions.

As Tyler wrote  - do the 30 days trial and see what you like.

There a many wives here who don't like the sly look, but their negative comments will fade.

Be familiar with your new look and start enjoying.

Best wishes.

Welcome to Sly Bald Guys, sorry to hear about the negativity you're receiving. You've got the right plan though, give it 30 days and then make your final decision.

Hey Stemikger: welcome to SBG's first of all O0

Sorry You've had bad reactions from family, but keep at it, and try it out for the 30 days as the other bro's suggest.  If YOU feel you can't live with it after 30 days then by all means grow it back to a crew, but see how YOU feel first.  Obce you get more confident about it, hopefully the family will see what a positive effect it is having on you and they will grow to like it too. 8)

Post a pic, and I'm sure you'll get encouragement from everyone here! O0

Welcome Stemikger.  It seems that the important thing should be whether you like being sly or not.  If you do, they you need to explain to others that you like it and that if they like/love you they should be happy for you.
