Been lurking for a while and think this is agreat site. I am early 40's, muscular, small beerbelly, and thin hair but with no specific bald spot. Usually buzz or scissor cut to about a half inch but really wanting t go shorter and then to smooth. Did shave once for a vacation and loved being smooth but felt the look was not the best for me and let it grow back. I am planning to run a clipper, (that new Remington brush like design) over my head this weekend. What do you all think about how I will look ? I do have some scars on the back as well so not a perfect smooth skinned look like some of you.
Thanks for the input and thanks for the great site.

Dude, you'll look good...
and scars...
they make you a bad mother of a sly dude!
Just skip the gradual bro...go for the slick bald look straight up...you'll love once you're back to smooth!

I would have to agree, just go for it.
Nobody is perfect. Don't think of them as scars, think of them as battle wounds!

Welcome to the site, dude! Glad you're looking to take control of your hair situation.
As far as your dome imperfections, very few of us have perfect domes, so don't sweat that part. Most of us have some issue with our domes, and remember, usually you are your own worst critic.
I say go for it, if it doesn't work for you, it'll grow back!

Just make up a story about how you single-handedly broke up a bar fight even though someone hit you over the head with a chair.

Welcome. This is a great support network. I buzzed my head with a 0000 blade for years then decided to shave and have been at it 14 days. I'm lovin' the sly life.

Hey chgobuzzbald; welcome
Just go for it bro. You look like you would suit the sly look. After all it's just another hairstyle in the end, and it'll grow back soon enough. But you'll never know unless you take the plunge, go for it and shave it slick.
