Austin's a great town. If you can survive the drivers.
That's just not Austin... that is the entire state of Texas!!! I've been all over Texas and NOBODY with Texas plates knows how to drive... I think it's mandatory training to ignore other drivers and traffic laws to get your Texas driver's license!!

Yup I can agree with that. No common courtesy. No-one seemed to have a clue what the hammer lane was for either.
Ass-hat soccer moms going 20 mph under the limit in the hammer lane, talking on their phones in their mondo SUV's, while other psychos were weaving in and out of traffic doing 30 or 40 mph over the limit = bad combination.
Saw TWO TRAFFIC FATALITIES in the week we were in Dallas Fort Worth both caused by dumb driving!!!
i love driving in houston. 90 mph and bumper to bumper. kinda like nascar. but at least you are moving. nawlins on the other hand. wow, now that is some bad driving. geez.
I'll tell you what, going through Austin I hit this huge traffic jam on 35 South. All three lanes were shut down, and I was sitting there forever! It was a freaking manhunt! Texas troopers had all three lanes shut down interviewing each car. I had a light shined in my face by the dude asking me where I was going and where I was coming from. Once I told him I was going to Lackland AFB he chilled. But it was kinda scary!

Paulie:
Careful, you know d*mn well we don't drive in the Crescent City, WE AIM!
Re: Texas, Austin to San Antonio, Hill Country etc., beautiful, good food, music. But the rest of the state, forget it, the best thing coming out of Texas, other than Austin-San Antonio, is the I-10.
