Lakers vs Celtics... 2008 NBA Finals...

It was a tough game for the Lakers.  I do wish it wouldn't have been so anti-climatic.

Yeah, it was anti-climatic...oh well, I do love the Lakers so I can't wait for next season....I remember when the Lakers were trying to get Garnett earlier this year...The Celtics really put together a good team....I think the Lakers put together a great team this year too, but they just could not match these Celtics....well, it's been awhile (1986) since the Celtics got a championship, so they were long overdue!

Am I the only one who was getting tired of hearing Kobe Bryant being compared to Michael Jordon??  It was really starting to give me the sh#ts!  I mean Kobe is a great player, but he couldn't carry MJ's jock to the arena!!

Handlebar....that's just evil man!   You look like a Texan, maybe a bitter Spurs fan?  Ha!  Just kidding....you know that is something I can still be happy about though, the Lakers got beat the Spurs...I was really afraid that wouldn't happen...those dang Spurs have been kicking some butt for years now....I remember the commentators saying that the Spurs players are just getting too old...well, I think with how the Lakers performed all season and they being such a young team...I think they can come back next year stronger in the Defense department....cuz I think that is what this series came down to....the big "D" and the Celtics are the #1 defensive team....Ya know, I  was excited about the idea of Celtics Vs. Lakers going into the Finals but I was afraid the Celtics would kick there butts just because they did so in the regular season, and they did just that...oh man, I have to stop reading the replies here...time for me to move on being a fan of the losing team (I even stayed up watching the Celtics celebration--I guess I just am a big fan of NBA basketball...its really the only sport I keep up with unless the Nebraska CornHuskers football team is doing well, then I follow them too....I grew up most my life in Omaha, Nebraska, so I'm a Husker fan for life too!

Joe442 --- yeah, the Jordan-Kobe comparisons are getting old, even Kobe gets tired of them but he must be also flattered....but really, they are two different kind of players who dominated in their own individual times, ya know?  I love watching both of them play....I which Jordan hadn't come back to play for the Wizards though...I mean, I was excited as  hell when he did and all of a sudden I was religiously watching Wizards games too, but I was so disapointed because even though he was older, my mind still expected his high flying dunks and he lost those legs, but he did help that team become a whole lot better and my brother-in-law got to go see him play.

I profess that I'm no Laker fan, but there's no reason to put Kobe down the way you just did. You have to give Kobe his due. Show some good sportsmanship like ...

BJ, I agree. While I love my Boston teams, when it comes to pro bball, Kobe is my favorite player. I respect him as a basketball player more than anyone else.

Hey guys, I didn't mean to strike a sour note on Kobe there....as I said in my post, he's a great player for sure!  But he's also a whiner!  There was talk earlier in the year of the possibility he would come to the Bulls.  Would he have helped that mess in Chicago and made the Bulls a better team?  Yes...I think so.  Would he have made his teammates better with his presence?  I can't really answer that because in the past it seems like Kobe wanted it all to be about Kobe!  I think as this season has gone on, Phil has maybe gotten through to Kobe a little bit more and you can see the signs of his presence making his teammates better.....helped to land them in the finals!  But the point I was making is that while MJ was the show in Chicago, when he stepped on the court he made his teammates better every night because he worked harder than anybody else and wasn't tolerating the slacking and the dissention and the non unity!

I'm a huge Kobe fan.  I wish he would have gone to the Kings.  Though, I can understand why he did what he did before this season.  He had little, if hardly any support from the Lakers and the horrible LA fans.  Yet, despite all of that, he still led a young, relatively unknown set of players to the NBA FINALS!  While, I think Kobe and Jordan are different in their own respects, if there is one person that could be compared to Jordan for his leadership on the court, it would have to be Kobe.
