A while back I posted about fellow SBG "NAVYRN" and his daughter Lily. You can read Lily's story here:
http://www.givelilyhope.com/This past Sunday there was a fund raiser for Lily in Chesapeake Virginia. My wife and I had never been to the areaand had never met Tony or his wife but decided to make a weekend trip to the area and to attend the fund raiser for Lily. So on Sunday, I got to meet Tony (NAVYRN), his wife Carie, and his daughter Lily.
What a great family. We were greeted warmly by Carie and Tony and had the pleasure of meeting Lily. All of Lily's guests enjoyed a nice dinner and music. There were raffles of some great donated items. All proceeds went to Lily's trust to send her to Ability Camp. Tony explained to Cheryl and me just how incredible this camp is for children with the special needs that Lily has.
Tony is a kind, gracious man with a life perspective we should all have. He told a story of a young girl that knows Lily. She set up a Lemonade Stand to raise money to donate to Lily's fund. She had a grand sales total of $4..... and donated it all to Lily for Ability Camp. There was a little lump in the throat when I heard that story.
We enjoyed meeting Tony and his family and we hope to join them again next year.
Tony told me that a couple of fellow SBG's had sent donations after my original post. He was very thankful guys...... you know who you are.
What a great way to meet a fellow SBG! Thanks to Tony and the Putney family!
I don't mean to bend arms here, but if you missed my original post or maybe you have some loose change hanging around, maybe you can send a donation for Lily to the address located on Lily's page.
