Facebook Warning

This "may be" only applicable to people with smart phones, if you don't have a smart phone, and this is true for you too, let me know. I just checked and it's true, ALL OF THEM!
ALL THE PHONE NUMBERS IN YOUR PHONE are now on Facebook! No joke - go to the top right of the screen, click on Account, then click on Edit Friends, go left on the screen and click on Contacts. All phone numbers from your phone (FB friends or not) are published!! Please repost this on your Status, so your friends can remove their numbers and thus prevent abuse if they do not want them published.
I am "-" this close to dumping Facebook altogether and only staying with Google+ (although I haven't been on that since the day I signed up. They don't seem as sneaky. Wouldn't it be interesting if EVERYONE on FB dropped it in one day? Zuckerberg would be sunk. I think it's going to come to that.

I love it how these "features" are quietly rolled out.
It looks like, for the most part, the numbers are pulled from your FB friends' profile page. I am however, deleting any contacts on the list that I know are mine and that I don't want published.
If you go to the page where the contacts are listed there are instructions to disable the feature, on the right-hand side of the screen.

I guess they are counting on the majority of the public not doing due diligence.

Saw this on a friend's status earlier...
"WARNING MY FRIENDS......Facebook has changed and said nothing. Take a look at your URL (top box on your screen.) If you see "http" or just "www" instead of "https" you DO NOT have a secure session & can be hacked. Go to Account Settings - Account Security - click Change. Check box (secure browsing), click Save. FB has… automatically set it on the non-secure setting! Do everyone a huge favor, copy & re-post."

I have an Android phone and none of my contacts outside of FB show up. In Facebook's instructions of how to remove this option, it mentions the iPhone, so this may be an issue with the iPhone contacts versus Android or other mobile phone operating systems (though with other OS's, I cannot say for sure).
I've been aware of this option for some time, and haven't found anything there that shouldn't be (in other words, only the phone numbers of those who've put their contact number on FB show up, nothing else).
To each his own, though. FB is definitely walking on thin ice here, IMO.

OMG!!!

It's true.
It must have happened with one of the last mobile upgrades...do you ever read the agreement after updating your apps? I know I don't.

Same here. But I also never use my phone to log into Facebook.

This is but one of the times that I am happy to have a not-so-smart phone.

Even though I do NOT have a "Smart" phone I checked my friends using Daven's instructions and all their numbers are listed. I've got my security settings maxed out on FB (friends ONLY) but I'm going to repost the warning anyway.
Thanks for the heads up.

From Facebook:
"This list pulls together the contact information your friends already share with you on their profiles into one convenient place. It also includes contacts you import from your phone.
To remove a contact, just click X. You can also remove all your imported contacts.
Only you can see your contacts, but this info may be used to make friend suggestions for you and others."
I agree that Facebook is annoying, but they are not publishing anything here that your friends haven't already made visible to you and others by their privacy settings.
