Ahhh yes my first post here...

I've been lurking here for a few weeks now and I have really grown to like it. So I decided to register and join in on the fun.
I guess I should go ahead and give you fella's some details about me.
I'm 20 years old and I love shaving my head
I had been buzzing my hair ever since I was in high school. With each passing year going down one guard size. After high school I was to no guard and my current manager at the time said I should go all the way. This idea sounded real cool, but I had been using an electric since starting shaving. So I convinced my neighbor, who also has a chrome dome, to do it for me because I was too afraid the first time. So reluctantly he did it, and I can never thank him enough for it. It was the most amazing feeling ever, I had never felt so good about my hair, because it was gone! The feel of a smooth shiny head was incredible and I knew from that point I'd never go back to hair again. Especially seeing that my hair is starting to slowly thin from what it used to be.
My neighbor shaved my head with a gillette sensor excel and afterwards I found a mach 3 turbo we got in the mail for free on my 18th birthday. I started using that and used it for a year. It took me a few weeks to really get the hang of shaving with a blade down. Once I did though I loved it. I still would get the occasional cut or nick here and there but it was worth it to me. I soon started to realize I didn't have a very shiny head and it was kinda dry and flaky too, how unattractive a bald guy with dandruff? YUCK!
So I soon started using some nivea for men after shave stuff on my head, although it worked well, it always left a nasty residue feeling on my head and would be really unpleasant feeling if I started to sweat or it was raining or something of that nature. So I soon quit using that but still experienced the dry scalp problem.
After a while I discovered I needed to wash my head better, yes I still use shampoo, anti dandruff shampoo at that
I find the more I scrub my scalp the shinier it is. I'll use a bit of lotion on my head after a shower just to help keep it moist. It still tends to have a couple flakes on there after I shower so I take a "wipe" of sorts for other bathroom purproses and wipe it down and VWALA a super shiny dome.
I recently tried out the Gillette fusion and was blown away. The shave in comparison to the Mach 3 turbo was incredible. My head becomes smooth as a baby's bottom with pretty much no irritation on my head. Its pretty much impossible to not get some on my adams apple, but other than that the Fusion leaves my head super smooth and shiny as can be. As for my face, I don't like super smooth and clean looking, so I just go with the grain without any gel, gives me that, havent shaved in a day look
Also from switching from the Mach3Turbo to the fusion, I have experienced much longer life of my razor. With the Mach 3 I was lucky if I got about 1-2 shaves out of it, with the fusion I can get atleast 3 if not four. I have a thick head of hair, although slowly thining out, still alot to shave.

Welcome Dan, it's good to have another Fusion fan on the site. Pick up a loofa pad at Wal-Mart, not the sponge but a pad-about $2--lasts 6 or more months and use it when washing your scalp--you'll get rid of the "flakes" and really build up a nice shine. Shine on Buddy

Thank you all for the warm welcome, I can tell this is really a cool, fun positive atmosphere, and i'm surrounded by other chrome domes!!
Zetaeffe: I started buzzing it and each year just enjoyed how it looked as it got shorter and shorter and it always felt amazing too. I only did it once a month so I thought the shorter I got it the longer it would last, so thats how that went about. As I said I had to ask my neighbor to do it for me the first time, because I had never used a blade before, always an electric. As for the age thing, I think I'm one of the few guys my age who actually does it, although as time progresses its becoming much more popular.
If anyone else has more questions I'll definetely be happy to answer
and Warhawk, I will definetely post up my routine ASAP.
