artists?
« on: May 25, 2008, 11:26:37 PM »
i was wondering if there were any sly artists out there? while i would not call myself an artist, i do draw a little and have done some painting. mostly just stick with pencil drawings now. i have done murals in my kids rooms when they were younger. but not a whole bunch of time anymore. so are there any of you out there that dabble or are really artists?

I used to dabble in watercolors and oils, but haven't had the time to do so for many years.

Cool Thread.....

I have always been into all things creative since I was a kid.

I used to paint a lot around 18/19 (went to art/design school) - I have worked with many many different mediums over the years.

I did get the water colors out recently and have a go but I feel like I have "lost it".

I love looking on etsy.com all things hand made....its a cool site.

These days I stick to writing.

I am interested to see any sly artists!

Depends on how you define "artist". I knit and the vast majority of what I knit I design myself instead of following someone else's pattern, so in a sense I consider what I do to be art. I'm a yarn artist. :D

My wife and daughter are awesome artist.

However, my art is music.  I've been playing guitar and writing songs my entire life.  My style is on the lines of the Late Great Jim Croce.

While my g/f makes a living as an artist (mainly faux painting and some abstracts), I, like stemikger, have been making music and playing instruments since I was 8.

Had formal training in music for 10 years (played the trumpet throughout High School).

Taught myself guitar at 20 and have continued making music ever since.
Tis better to have a bald head than no head at all.

I was told to think outside the box, how did I get in the box in the first place?
