WHAT's your "back-up" razor?
« on: May 20, 2008, 10:16:59 AM »
hello fellow chrome domes:  we already have a gr8 topic on favorite/primary razor of choice.  i wanted 2 start a topic on... what's your "back-up" razor of choice?  in other words... what's your substitute razor?

i'll start:  my favorite and primary razor is the fusion (manual).  it gets me the smoooothest.  i actually have 2 back-up razors:  mach3 & schick quattro.  so... how 'bout U?  do U have a back-up/substitute razor?  what's your story?

Well... let me see... I have a HeadBlade Sport, backed up by a HeadBlade Sport and if I were to loose them, I have another HeadBlade Sport!  :*))

OH YEAH, and a Fusion (non-powered)  O0

I collect razors and shaving paraphernalia and have a couple of dozen razors to pick from and am a big fan of wet shaving. My favorite go to razor, and the one I use for my face, is a 1967 Gillette adjustable with a standard double edge blade.

I'd have to say my second favorite is Merkur Futur adjustable. It's a bit too heavy to use on the head but makes a great razor for the face.

When home I enjoy using these fine razors along with a very nice shaving soap whipped to a lather and applied with a badger bristle brush.

For now, I've reverted back to the razor I started with a year ago... the Mach III.  I just can't seem to beat it for a close and smooth shave at a reasonable price.  I'm actually using the Jetable (disposable) version.  There quite a bit less expensive compared with the regular blades and seem to do just as good of a job.

My back-up has been my Quattro. But it seems to give me lots of cuts on my face and jaw line, so I don't use it often.

My primary is the HeadBlade Sport, back-up is a HeadBlade Classic. If all else fails I still have my trusty Sensor Excel, usually used for the face but it was my original dome scraper until I got the HB Classic.

Two HB Sports and two HB Classics......if I need another one after that, I shouldn't be shaving my head. I would be an irresponsible owner.....lol

I like my Braun electric, but my back up would have to be a HB with Sensor blades.
