JW - you look great.  I started losing my hair at about age 19.  I wish I would have had the stones to go sly then.  I'll be honest - I am jealous of your self confidence at such a young age.  Congrats by sly brother.  Go knock the world out in life.

;D Wow, this is great! I expected to log on here and see maybe 2 or 3 replies at the VERY most.

Thanks for all your comments and compliments guys;  it means a lot to hear it from people that have gone through the same thing (especially that 'poster boy' remark  8)).

As many of you will have said in the past, you can never be sure whether compliments from those with full heads of hair are sincere or they simply say it so they don't hurt your feelings.

I'm definitely beginning to see the advantages of being sly - I just wake up in the morning, and there I am, ready for the day ahead. No more need to check all the angles in the nearest mirror every 5 minutes.

I'll certainly be a regular on here after such a warm welcome. I'll try and find you guys some before pics if I can.

Thanks again.

Me too, but it would have been a real oddity back then.  The whole sly movement hadn't even begun to get underway.

You did the right thing! looks great on you.

Now that you are sly you can experiment several looks
by trying different combos with your facial hair: goatee,
chin beard, moustache and so on... being so young
it will be considered very cool!

Bye

Welcome to the SBG site, JW. Glad you joined us and good to see you chose to take control, that's all it's really about.
Step out with confidence and just live life and enjoy!

There is no sense in agonizing over something that's slowly going to be gone anyway, and I am glad to see more guys take this route as opposed to a horrible combover, or fake creams and toppings.

Enjoy the forum, post up on more of your routine, and keep it smooth!     O0
