What the most you've paid for a ticket?

I'm planning on taking my two kids to their first Jimmy Buffett concert this fall.
There's still plenty of tix available, so scalpers aren't a problem right now. However, I went on EBay, and some people are asking $500/ea for Buffett tickets.  Now, I love Buffett, but there's no way in hell I'm paying that.

Let me throw this question out....
What's the most you've paid for a ticket to an event?

The most I've paid was $300 each for tickets to the 1997 Ryder Cup in Spain. It may sound like a lot but (believe it or not), that was face value. We had contacted a scalper and were prepared to pay more. However, my brother in law had a contact thru the PGA Tour and we got them at face price (we did send them a good bottle of CA Pinot Noir as a thank you). It was worth every penny (and sip).

So, what's your story? How much & was it worth it?

Schro,  I haven't been to a concert in a long time, mostly because of the cost.  I paid $14 to see Jimi Hendrex.  Hell yes, it was worth it.

The most I paid was to go see My Fair Lady with my wife a couple of weeks ago, they were 65 bucks each plus fees.

I have payed more to go to 3 day long events and such.

Schro, to see the Ryder Cup in Spain is truly priceless, you got a deal with the 300.

I paid 70 bucks a ticket to surprise my wife on her birthday to go see Vince Gill ( country music artist).  I bought them the same day her birthday was on and she had no idea we were going until we pulled into the parking lot and she seen everyone with these Vince shirts on.  I made brownie points that night for sure....cause actually I think she would rather be married to him than me...lol

I paid $120 to go to a RadioHead concert (3rd row)  only to find out I'm not that big fan of RadioHead.

Oh yeah, I forgot that last year I paid 110 bucks each for Seahawk playoff tickets.

funny story about Vince.  Had a friend who worked in the music business in Nashville and he knew where Vince lived.  He gave us the address because Kris wanted to go see where and waht he lived in.  Well somehow we got thru the gates of this "compound" where he lived and we drove back to his house.  When we got to his drive way there it was ...dont ask me the style of car or year..but I think it was a 1966 somethign or other.  Anyways my wife was freaking out when I pulled up into his drive way.  She was like Tim you cant do that ...we arent allowed in his drive way....I just looked at her like she was dumb..I said...KRIS ..we arent even suppose to be in this subdivision..but we are!  LOL.  I stop the car and I get out and she is like where you goign where you going..i said well im gonna go knock on his door.  She looked at me like i was stupid...so I walked up..knocked on the door.    waited....  Knocked again.... Door opens.  Its the maid... she looks at me without saying a word...and I said excuse me ma'am but I was wondering if I could talk to Vince.  She says do you have an appt?  I said No.  The maid says then how did you get thru the gate...I said the gate was open.  She said Sir, it would be of your best interest to get back in your car and head back out thru those gates before I call teh police.  I politely said OK...but Tell Vince...he missed out....lol  We got in our car and drove off.  LOL

I have never paid more than $130 for a concert or event (Mystere in Vegas included), but depending on the event, I would gladly pay upwards of $350 (a David Bowie concert, for instance).

Last year I spent $90 for 2nd row tickets to the Brad Paisley concert with Taylor Swift and Kelly Pickler for me and my wife. I bought the tickets as soon as they came out. Well two weeks before the concert I got the news that the owner of the stores was having this huge banquet ball thing on the same day. When I was told about it I told him that I had to go to the concert and he said that if I didnt make it to the ball then I would be demoted to assistant manager. I know he wouldnt do it but I didnt want to push his buttons. I tried to sell the tickets to anyone and no one wanted them so I ended up giving them to my brother. I was alittle ticked because the ball got done about half hour before the concert and it was about a mile away from the arena and a co-worker had his whole family there and bought tickets for the family and he was having a limo pick them up. I kicked myself for giving away the tickets. Since then I have spent $40 to take my wife to another Kelly Pickler and Chris Youg concert at the fair. The other concerts I have been to have been free because we sponsor alot of concerts and events.
