a big hello from england
« on: May 11, 2008, 03:23:30 PM »
hi guys,im Michael im new to the site, just found you guys through google, and im sorry for being a pain but I just wanted to say hi and tell you a bit about me if that’s ok. im 32 years old, when I was 19 I had a major car crash. I came within 00.001 mm of losing my life. im ok but at the time I had over 98 stitches in my face and head. due to the accident I have lost the vast majority of my hair. since I started to lose my hair my confidence has gone, I used to be a real ladies man but now im not, my last girlfriend used to say some nasty things when we were out, she would shout baldy across shops and being honest with some comments that have been made I admit that I do get upset but I remember that I came so close to dying that having no hair is a sacrifice I could live with. I started to lose hair at the crown of my head when I was about 22 so for ten years now my hair has been getting less and less. from the crown it moved to pretty much the top of my head and now I pretty much only have hair down the sides and back of my head. for maybe the last two years I have been having my hair cut real short started out a number 2 with guard then, down to a 1 with a guard on, then I went without no guard and real short which is what I like. I have started to wet shave using a headblade sport which I love. I did this on 29th April this year and I loved it, I have wet shaved a lot since then but I do have a problem. Due to my car crash I caught an infection the problem im going to get is that I have to use a scalp application due to infection because of the car crash, which I never knew about it till I started lose my hair but the problem with the scalp application is that’s its a steroid and I have to use it to get rid of the spots I get and I don’t think I will be able to stay shaved all the time as it means constantly using a steroid cream, which may have long term effect but if I time it right, I can have my head shaved/buzz cut as you guys call it a no 0 and let the spots heal and use the cream for a few days to bring the spots down, then use the cream for a couple of weeks and wet shave it right down, then when it starts to grow back as per length of a no 0 then I can stop using the cream, god that sounds complicated  lol but I think it will work and I just wanted to say hello to you all… hope your well

Michael, welcome to Sly Bald Guys!  I echo Paul's comment that it's great to hear that you have such a positive attitude after your crash.  That attitude will eventually help you excel beyond your beliefs.
