Life expectancy of a HeadBlade

I'm going on my 3rd month of being Sly and wondered how long a HeadBlade lasts. How will I know when it's time to replace the HeadBlade or adaptor? Do they eventually just break? Should I purchase back-ups soon just in case?

Hey PM, I have the HeadBlade Classic and it's been serving me well for the 16 months I've been sly. Unless you step on it, I don't see any reason for needing to replace the actual HeadBlade.
Since I went sly in Jan. 2007, I've changed the adaptor twice (the basic adaptor for Atra double blades), so I'm guessing 6 months per adaptor. You'll know when it's time to replace the adaptors when they start to fall out easy when you're rinsing them off. You can get adaptors at Headblade's website and they cost $5.49 for a 3 pack (seem overpriced). I bought a few three packs for combined shipping.
Hope that helps.

Guys-
I bought a pack of HB triples at Walgreen's and it came with two adapters. There were four blades and the two adapters in the package and i believe it was around $8.

Paraphrasing the owl (Tootsie Pop)... uh 1 year, uh 2 years, uh 3 years... uh, I'll have to get back to you on that one. Only real maintenance I've done is get a new set of wheels on my Headblade S4 after having them snap off after I dropped it on the floor.

I've had the plastic rail that the adapter clips onto separate from the main body after about 2 years of use.

First time i was sly, I had a headblade classic. after 2 years, i decided to go back the the fuzzy head crowd. The HB was still alive and kicking.
Last May I went back to the sly ways with a HB sport. I replace the adapters every 3 months. I've actually noticed that even if the adapter still holds the blades, I get a closer shave with a fresh adapter.
BTW, I use sensor blades with my HB, so i don't know if the astra adapters last longer or not.

I think everybody gave you good advice hear. But to be totally for sure you get the best shave you should probably change adaptors at least every six months. I think it was on the HB website where it says replacing the whole HB once a year is a good idea. But if it's still going strong I wouldn't waste the money. But definitely replace the adaptors.
