I hardly ever text message anyone.  I'd rather talk on the phone or email.  Personal preference I guess.  However this brings up something I've thought about.  How long has it been since you've actually written a letter, or written something out completely?  I can't remember the last time I've done it.   It seems I type everything now.

I'll start off with that I prefer to talk to someone on the phone or face to face versus over any form of text (internet or phone).  BUT, texting is a very efficient form of communicating with people if you just need to get a quick/short message to them.  It was never designed for long conversations, hence it's technical name of Short Messaging Service (SMS).

Because of how efficient texting is, I'm actually starting a company as we speak that further enhances people's ability to text and communicate with people via text messages.  I can't get into too many details yet, but you all will be the first to know when I have a product that you can use - free of charge for you guys.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

I definitely think that texting is very cool and has many beneficial uses.  But when I hear my kids' friends are sending over 100 text messages in one day, it's goes beyond ludicrous.  They just do it because it's trendy... 'everyone is doing it.'  You get them a cell phone, and simply 'talking' is silly.  Someday, I may get a cell plan with all of the bells and whistles, and a phone with a full keyboard, but at the moment, my basic cell phone is just fine.  If anyone knows of a way to block text messages, please let me know.  Somehow, some sports-related business has my phone number and keeps sending me texts, and I get charged for every one of them.   >:(

I have a few friends I text with, but if it's really important, it's worth makin a phone call. I've got a buddy I would classify as a junkie. He sends about 15000 messages a month. We have unlimited texting with our plan, because the wife and I use when she is in school, and my mom and I will use it occasionally if we're unable to make a phone call. It's nice for that kind of stuff.

As I said, I don't text very often, but it's still amazing how second-nature things like this can become.  I had to call a business recently and the automated answering system asked me to key in the first three letters of the last name of the party I was trying to reach.  I needed to press "F" and found myself hitting the key three times.  I had to start over and then I did the same thing AGAIN.  Anybody ever had this happen?
