If I'm out in the sun for long, gotta have one. Otherwise, I am sick of wearing hats to cover up my former 'problem'. No more hats!!!!

YES, you've got the right attitude.  Neutrogena puts out a 70spf spray--it leaves an incredible shine, so sun glasses for your friends are a must.

Rarely wear hats because I my head is hot and sweats most of the time in the outdoors. Love the shine and use sunscreen when in the hot sun.

Bumping an old thread, but oh well.

I used to always wear ball caps, any situation where i could i would: out running errands, at work, out and about, always had to have a hat on, couldn't stand to be without one, my adult security blanket i suppose.  I actually realized i was going bald on an occasion that i had to go hat-less.  It was my father's funeral so a hat obviously wasn't appropriate and when my aunt, my father's sister, saw me without a hat (a rarity at that time) she said, "you're getting thin up there."  Nice time to find out you're going bald! @K*

Since i have gone sly, i've only worn a hat when i've been lazy and had stubble that i was self conscious about and as its getting close to winter now i enjoy the warmth of a beanie.  Shaving my head has made me much more confident; hats, minus knits, feel really weird now that i'm sly.

i went sly for the first time today so i will see, might end up wearing it less who knows

I wear a baseball cap or fleece pullover most of the time.
I have to say it’s more to keep sweat from falling in my eyes than anything else.
OK, also it’s a security blanket too.
But after a cold Guinness I tend to go slick.
That’s my story I’m in sticking with that.

Yep, almost always.  No sense changing that after all these years.
Maybe you've seen it around here, somewhere?

I wear a hat most of the time for cold or sun protection. Feels unnatural without one.

Aloha all Slys,

I too stopped wearing most baseball hats after becoming sly but I've found a great hat made famous by a black actor- not Lou Gossett Jr., but another well-known actor from the same era. The name of the hat is KANGOL, designed in Britain, made in China. I always wear mine with the little embroidered kangaroo with baby in pouch facing forward and the small bill to the back. They are available in a few colors, either wool of another lighter fabric which I haven't bought yet. They are $40 at Nordstroms but you can buy online and pay $35 plus shipping. Nordstroms told me they would order any of them and not charge shipping. Let me know what you think-I'll probably be ordering a lighter weight one for summer and will let you know waht I think.

Never. even with a horseshoe cut I never used a cap.  Now that I'm bald, and even with a flat back of the head that I'm concious of I wouldn't evern think about covering a bald head.  When I see a guy with shaved sides and wearing a cap, for the most part I politely express my displeasure with someone shaving his head and then covering it up.  Why shave your head if your going to cover it up?

Never wear a hat. I spend my time exfoliating, shaving with and then against the grain then moisturising my head every day, why put in all that work then hide it? I love my bald dome and I love showing it off.

Same here--I wasn't a big hat fan anyway, but now I can feel the stitching and the ridges, and it isn't pleasant. I have a huge head anyway, and even 7 7/8 hats are tight and generally pretty uncomfortable and leave a line around my head.   I wore a hat or my Under Armor skull cap for about five days at the gym after the doctor froze my precancerous lesions off, partly bc of the look and also because people could think I had sores that could contaminate the equipment.  I do wear the beanie if I'm on a site visit where they hand you a safety helmet--I don't know whose head was in it last and the helmets can have some pretty funky looking webbing inside :P.  The beanie keeps me from having that touch my scalp directly.

I like a straw Panama Jack style hat when out in the summertime. The rest of the year, it's uncovered.
