I used to wear caps alot. Now I wear them if it's chilly out or it's summer and I'm going to be outdoors. It's interesting that I have never put sunblock of any grade on my head!! I guess I'm just blessed with a head that never burns!

I still wouldn't risk it.  You don't want have this in your head - http://www.slybaldguys.com/serendipity/archives/195-This-is-what-skin-cancer-looks-like.html

I agree with Tyler.  You know Gary they say you don't have to burn your toe to know fire is hot.
You just never know when things will go wrong.   It's easy to think one is bulletproof.
Cheers and please wear sunscreen even if your head doesn't burn.

ALRIGHT MOM AND DAD!!  I'll try doing it your way this summer, "just to be safe."  I guess I just don't worry about cancer. I believe if it's going to happen it'll happen.

I also have no genetics to worry about. Welllll I have to admit that my mother and father and both of my wifes parents died of cancer!! Duh!!

So I will be a good boy and try wearing some protection next time I'm out! Now I have another product to search for!!

You can't get skin cancer if you go out always with a hat.

Just in case you haven't gotten the message, I'm a veteran of six skin cancers, two on my head and four elsewhere, forearm, shoulder , back and leg.  I just had a biopsy this week about a growth in the scar on my head that is most probably not cancer but my skin doctor for nearly twenty years thought it best to check it out.  You don't need "genetics" for skin cancers, and they are by in large totally cureable provided they are caught in time, the melanoma is the bad one, not as much time can elapse before they can become one of the most deadly and painful of the skin cancers.  Wear sunscreen--all the time, and high spf when you're out in the summer, high like 70!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It can be fun though, just this afternoon, the wife, famous for her anti-sly position, has now taken to nicely remind me about protecting the dome.  So, before we head out looking for some new chairs for the house, I spray down w/ some 70spf Neutrogena--it leaves a totally blinding shine.  We're walking into the first store, quote the wife, "Don't you have a Kleenex or something to wipe your head?"  "No," I said, "this is the sunscreen!"  Silence, end of subject, I was a beacon of light in the stores, I mean blinding shine. LMFAO. >:D

I wear Do-Rags to protect my head from the sun but only when I have to. One thing I have experienced is that I still have to use sunscreen when using cotton do rags. I wear beanies in the winter and baseball caps when ever I feel like it, which is not to often any more. I like to feel the breeze accross my head.

Gotta wear a "do rag" on the motorcycle for long rides.  Wear a knit cap in the winter, ball cap for work outside.  Otherwise no hats.....the ladys love to rub on the melon.....

Being fairly new to the scene, I see no purpose in covering a shaved head.  Why get a complete head shave if your going to cover it up.  Be a man and take it like a man.
