Hey Mike as an avid tattoo enthusiast both a collector and appreciative of the art, I must commend you on that half sleeve, That looks like some really awesome quality work. Who is the artist who did it?

Your heart tattoo is awesome too bro, I am a big fan of traditional 40's and 50's  Sailor Jerry and Don Ed Hardy style tattoos. Hearts and Arrows,Schooner ships, anchors, swallows etc.

Big thumbs up!

Thanks for the props JDOG! My half sleeve was done by Stacy McCleaf at Chrome Gardens (www.chromegardens.com) in Gettysburg, Pa.. Stacy is top notch and has won a bunch of awards. On top of that she is super cool.
I gave Stacy my idea and totally let her come up with the tattoo. When I saw her original drawing I didn't change a thing.

The tattoo is really about personal Salvation. The SLY guy in the tattoo is me crawling from my own personal Hell and the arms reaching for me represent my personal demons trying to pull me back in.
The funny thing is that when I met with Stacy originally I still had the horseshoe hair but she drew me SLY anyway...... talk about fate!

Better keep her away from me then.............. for some strange reason I'm attracted to women with the name Cheryl (or Sheryl). I've probably known about a dozen in my life and all but one were very attractive to me........... and no I've never been desperate! :*))

I love the traditional stuff too. Cheryl didn't know I was getting this tattoo. I did it on a whim and didn't tell her. When i got home from the trip I played it up a bit. After I gave the kids thier gifts I went to get undressed and Cheryl and I were talking. I said to her that I didn't want to get her clothes or something that would just be gone in a few months or a year. I then pulled my shirt off as i said, "I wanted to get you something that would last forever". Dude when she saw the tattoo she went crazy! The kids came running to see what the fuss was about and then they all got excited (yes everyone in our house is a tattoo enthusiast).
Let me just say that Cheryl REALLY, REALLY likes the tattoo.....

LOL Mike, I can just imagine the reaction(s) that it got from her eh bro!!Well done! ;)

Stacy's work looks amazing! I can see why you would chose her based on her portfolio alone. Her work is very spread out over the many styles. Its a great feeling to look down on a piece of art on your body and know that no one else in the world has that tattoo. Maybe a similar style or scene but custom pieces are just that, Custom to you.

Spending the tax rebate on a tat is better than spending it on the cheap plastic crap that they carry at Wally World. At least the tat will last!

Thats a great tatt! Your wife should be proud.

The other is a beautiful piece that really is an example of what tattoos should be, personal, meaningful and beautiful.

I am a fan of the traditional tattoo art as well, I am going in for a sparrow soon.

MARZ-

Thanks for the props on my tattoos. I love them and i'm really proud of them. I got my first tat last Summer just befoe i turned 47. I'm sort of a fanatic now. I have several ideas for a few custom pieces but I'm limited by cash.... not my imagination! O:O

                      Thanks again-

I really like the custom piece Mike. The heart looks really good too, but there is something about that custom piece that draws you in.
