My kids are constantly losing the remote, so it was probably just last week.  It always ends up in the strangest places......

You dont even wanna know my story....you can not even turn the tv without our remote.  We have DishNetwork...and the lil buttons on the reciever....dont work.  I have to take it apart and fix it...so until then ....no remote...no channel surfing.  Thats why I get so frantic when I cant find it. My youngest daughter likes to pack it around.  I have found it in one of her many play purses...in the basket on her bicycle, in the bathroom ..you name it...our remote has been there.  I am considering putting a wire on it and attaching to MY RECLINER....i doubt it if that ever happens..lol

I would say circa-1993

That's the beautiful thing about the TiVo.  If you lose the remote it will automatically change the channel to your favorite programs you chose to watch.  Though, if you don't catch then live then you need to find the remote to watch the recording.

RE: DishTV  no control except remote our HDTV box & DVR doesn't have anything except a reset button and some others that don't make much sense, and if our new flat screen by Samsung has controls on the set, they're well hidden.  For our house, no remote, no TV, period.

I think that losing a remote is some sort of OCD...to come to think of it....that is what my son has been diagnosed with...Obsessive Compulsive Disorder....and now I know what he felt like all the time....gotta be tough on a lil guy..

1988 was the last time I changed the channel manually. I used to have a 50's era Magnavox TV that sat on 4 legs.
