Recovering deleted files
« on: March 27, 2008, 02:25:19 PM »
Attention Sly computer wizards!

Can anyone recommend software (prefer free) that will let me recover some deleted files.  I un-installed some software the other day and it took a bunch of my videos along with it.  And no they weren't porn videos >:D

I looked at a couple programs, one was really expensive to actually use, and the other was free but wanted to save the recovered files to another drive (which I don't have).  I understand why it wants to do that, but its not an option with me.  If I lose some but can recover to the same drive, that's what I want.

Thanks & any help surely appreciated.

I don't have any experience with it, but you could give this a shot.

Even runs from a floppy, which is pretty cool.

People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to recover the files I wanted to, they didn't even show up on the searches, so I guess they're just gone for good. :'(

Bad thing is, a day or two before this happened, I was thinking I needed to get some CDs and make backup copies.
