I feel like a cheater.
« on: March 26, 2008, 05:44:28 PM »
Team,

I have to admit something. I used a high end electric on my head today. It was my buddy's Braun Pulsonic that he has been using. I have to tell you that this was the best headshave that I have ever gotten. My head was smooth as a blade shave has ever gotten. The best part was there wasnt any irritation. I rubbed some aftershave on my head afterwards and was good to go! I loved it!! But I feel guilty for using it, I feel like I am cheating on my blade, and not experiencing the true slyness. Am I wrong?? Because the electric feels sooo right!  :/O

Exactly what I was going to say. Thanks for saving my the typing Tom.

Your blade may be waiting at home with a rolling pin though.

That's awesome to hear bro and also something I've been waiting to hear for a while.  Because I myself would love to find an electric that will do the deed as close as a razor.  But you are not exaggerating at all about it being as close as a razor?  Not saying that you are but just want to make sure before I go out and spend the money to give it a try.  Thanks bro.  O0

Great to hear Nick, would like to have an option to razor shaving when periods of irritation arise.  I am curious though as to how long the smooth feeling lasts.   Did you notice a faster return of stubble than with a razor?

Bro I was blown away at the ease and comfort of this shave. It was great. I am going to read alot of reviews on Amazon before I decide on spending the $$ on one too. Im not sure if I want to spend $200 for a Braun Pulsonic like my boy has. I want to see if I can get a similar one for cheaper.

Gunny Paul,

I did notice stuble returning faster than a blade shave though. I used it this morning at the gym, and around 1600 I was a lil prickly. But it wasnt that bad though. For me to not have the irritation that I get with a blade, I will live with premature stuble.  O0

That's cool, Nick! Thanks for the review. I wonder if these "face" shavers work better on people with thinner, lighter color hair? Versus darker, thicker or more coarse hair.

I agree with Tom!

I have been shaving the dome for about six months now and have pretty much used the HeadBlade exclusively with great results.  When I first started shaving, I went out and bought a Panasonic Vortex electric and only used it a few times.  I brought it out again last nite...charged it up...used it this morning in the shower with a little Pacific Shaving Oil.  I must say that it was quicker and easier than using the HB and the results were better than "pretty good."  No cuts, no irritation.  Maybe I'll use this routine a few times a week and use the HB on the weekends when I can relax and have a bit more time.  Nick...I didn't feel guilty at all.  I had time for an xtra cup of coffee before leaving for work.  If it works Bro...go for it.
Regards,
Fester

I agree with Tom!

Same here, if it works for you and keeps you smooth, then go for yours, bro!   O0
