Are you more self-conscience since you were bald?

This morning my wife and I went to a performance by a speaker on Shakespeare. It was actually REALLY good, but won't go into the details except I learned a lot about the Bard. Got the tickets from a co-worker who couldn't go.
But there were 700-800 in attendance. 98% women (only about 10 men were there) and 100% shorter then me. And 100% with more hair. And we were setting up front. Now with my shaved head, and standing a head taller then anyone else, I am fully aware they are noticing my shaved head. I am conscious of how I stand or move my shoulders when I am sitting.
Since shaving your head, do you watch your posture and how you carry yourself more.

I would have to say I am WAY more confident without hair than I ever was with hair (aside from when I was a little kid). I know that the back of my head looks pretty much the same all the time so it doesnt bother me.
I do know how you feel though when it feels like a whole room is looking at the back of your head, I think hair or no hair that makes everyone feel kinda uncomfortable.

Personally I think it has to do with particular situations...
which can be the case with hair or not...
like on the occasion I would venture out to a bar in Manhattan Beach, Ca....
talk about self conscience...
I'm a little dude and never feel my size until you're surrounded by 6to7 ft beach volleyball, wannabe actor type beautiful people all trying to get drinks at the bar....

!!!!!!
Didn't mind the bald head in that sitch...just the height and THAT'S rare!
I agree with Marz though, I have WAY more confidence bald that when I had hair of any type!

I agree. I still feel self-conscious at times, especially if I happen to be in a crowd that is predominately older. I think a lot of the older generation still doesn't get the whole shaved head thing.
Other times, I wouldn't say that I'm self-conscious, exactly, but I'm often aware of the fact when I've got the only shaved head in the room. It's always nice to see one or two other shaved domes to take some of the attention away.

Although I've gotta say I feel sometimes more self conscience when there are a lot of bald heads in the crowd...like this morning at the gym..
it was like a friggin' convention!
Nice to see a fit, healthy body is a natural fit for a smooth slick head...
not so long ago it was only coupled with illness!

I am definitely more aware of my appearence and pay more attention to how I dress and how I carry myself. Overall, I think this is a good thing and caused me to have a better overall appearance.

I somewhat fall into this catergory. I have started wearing tight fitting long sleeved shirts ( I stuff the arms and chest with toilet paper) I make sure my noggin is as shiney as it could be. I then slip on a pair of nice fitting jeans( I stuff those too...in the legs , rear end, and the unmentionable area) I put in a few gold hoop earrings ....have a nice clean shaven face....and oh yeah I forgot...my boots. Gotta have the boots. I think if you dress and look the way you feel...then you will be doing pretty good at impressing people you meet.
I think i went a little over the top there....
Timmayy ! LOL

The gym is the one place where I feel like I can blend in with the crowd. Easily, half the guys there have shaved heads.

The way my hair line was going I would say that I was more self-conscience of that look.

It has changed to a point. I don't think I'm some kind of sterotypical bad ass just because I've shaved my head. But because I would always think about my hair getting thin it does loosen me up a lot more now.

It's pretty funny, but I'm rarely the only Sly guy in the crowd when I go places. I guess when I am it really doesn't bug me since I can be a bit of a fan of attention.

I've always been pretty confident and happy with myself so I wouldn't say it was a huge change for me. All I know is that once I did it I was self concious for about a day but I did love it right away.
