Coach Dumps John Daly
« on: March 12, 2008, 07:02:59 AM »
As most of you know, I'm a golfer. I've mentioned on other threads that I would love to see John Daly just dedicate himself to golf instead of being loveable drunk he's known for being. Well, apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this way. The following is a great read, even if you're not a golfer or golf fan.

"JD" has a ton of talent. Although he's known for the "grip it & rip it" style of play, his short game is one of the best on tour. One quote that I've always loved (forgot the author) was "There is no greater shame than wasted talent". This is one of those cases. Hopefully this swift kick to his "man berries" will give him the wake up call he sorely needs.

Great read Schro!  I agree with you that Daly is an awesome talent that just needs to straighten up.  He could still have fun, just do it sober.  Do you imagine how fun it would have been for him to have Gruden caddy for him and him win or get close to winning that day?  It would have been a whole different story.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

I have always liked John Daly but even in that picture it looks like he has aged 15 years in the past 5. He is a friend of mines favorite player and it is heartbreaking to see him tank his career.

And on top of it, he was a no show for this morning's Bay Hill Pro-Am, which means he's DQed from this weekend's PGA Tour event.

Shameful and embarrassing.
