I got my first cell phone in 2006. So I think that was the last time I have used a pay phone. I might have since then if I forgot my cell. But I honestly can't remember.

Used a pay phone just a few weeks ago. Absolutely HAD to have a land line to transmit information to the doctor's office. I've had a cell phone off and on for the past 10 years.

It's been a while; seems like it may have been down at the hospital when I forgot to charge the cell. And as I recall, it did not come cheap.

It has been a hell of a long time and I simply can't remember. Has to be over 5 years or more though.

I remember the call cost 25 cents (have no idea what they cost now). It's been at least 5 years.

1997, I was in a holding cell in the county jail. It was my one free call. I actually made a few calls, but they were all collect.

One of my buddies got a DUI a while back and because of his cell phone, didn't have anyones number memorized. So, being the out of the box thinker he is, used the pay phone to call a bail bondsman who posted a card above the phone and had her call me at work to come bail him out. He gave her my name and the name of the company I worked for and she called up the main line and asked for me. She said she was an old friend of mine and got through. When I answered she went into the story of how she came to call me and that I needed to come see her to bail my buddy out. 30 minutes later I was in her office. We still laugh at how he pulled that one off.

last time i used a pay phone was september. I was going fishing and i blew out the sidewall of a tire and found a nail in my spare 60 miles from the nearest town and 5 miles from the canadian border. I hitchhiked to a store a few miles back, called a tow truck and waited for 5 hours for the truck to show up.
60 miles of dirt road is a long way in a tow truck.
