Round#2 Washington Sectional
« on: February 29, 2008, 10:46:56 PM »
Hey all, we played in Round #2 of our Basketball Sectional.  Washington Hatchets played against Pike Central and won our game.  The final score was 81-29.  We play the final game tomorrow night against life long rival  Vincennes Lincoln.  Wish us luck tomorrow...Lincolns play for blood..and thats no joke.  THe first round they played against another team and the literally got into push and shove fights out on teh floor with one push match resulting in a team member on the other team recieving a gapping wound on his knee.  Gonna be a great game tomorrow....

If you guys havent seen the movie Hoosiers.. I think it is a must watch if you are into basketball.  Some of that movie was shot at a gym not to far from me in a town called Huntingburg.  Other movies that have been filmed in this area is A league of their own, and Hard Rain.  All three are excellent movies and yes we own all three...

Basketball is in our blood here.  The towns in this area...when their hometeam plays...the towns just basically close up.   Would love to have an SBG convention here sometime during the Sectional play offs.  It is a great time to live in Washington Indiana.

Tim-

Good luck in today's game!!! man I love hoops. I coach 4th, 5th, and 6th graders and love the passion most of them have for the game.

I never played organized hoops as a kid but I played on the streets in the great city of baltimore everyday. THAT was some serious hoops.... evn back then. We actually had college guys around watching neighborhood games. We never really realized they were there but I know they were because even though I never played organized ball I actually got offered some scholarships to some small Division 1 schools.

My son just turned 11 and he can shoot lights out but at this point he may be the slowest kid in the modern ages. He LOVES hoops!

Timmmay, what are the Hatchet's overall win-loss record for the year?
I'd like to see them play against our Hawks. Now that would be some game. Since I'm currently strapped for cash, can anybody here foot the bill for the team bus ride over to Indiana?

Oh, just one thing. No matter what, don't cheer on those Hatchett's in your red and whites. Don't want to jinx their winning season do ya!
