IF U R a nurse it is an advantage having a smooooth dome...
« on: February 28, 2008, 04:19:03 PM »
hello fellow chrome domes.... as most of U know i am a registered nurse.  as a RN we R required 2 do mandatory CEU's (continue education units) 2 maintain R mandatory education as a working nurse.  anyways.... i just got back from an all-day class regarding "therapeutic interventions involving a violent client".  anyways... we learned how 2 protect ourselves from various violent acts (from clients/patients) such as hitting, grabbing, kicking, biting, and believe it or not "hair-pulling".  when the instructor...got 2 the "hair-pullling" section of the class....the instructor looked at me and said..."well...mel...looks like U can B excused from this section of the class".  immediately the class had a good laugh and so did i.  so...if U R a nurse like me... having a slick, smooooth noggin' is a good thing.  :) O0

Years back, I worked in surgery... even if you were bald as a watermellon you still had to wear one of those flippen hats!  No advantage there!  :*))

I was thinking about going to nursing school. My grandmother, two of my aunts, my mom, and my older sister are all nurses. I' d be the first male in my family to become an RN. That would be SWEET! Where did you go to school?

Cool story, Mel.  In my line of work, the CPA's are more likely to pull their own hair out. :'(

i was filling out some paper work for the new job a couple weeks ago, and there was a section about hair color. it actually had a space that was marked bald. was a proud moment to check that box.

Ya know... it's discrimination that there's no option for "bald" on my drivers license.  I asked the lady at the counter when renewing my license if I should write "bald" for hair color and she said, "just put down the color you would have if you had hair"!    :/O

I'm not sure what the rules are in Kansas, but I've decided that as soon as I can make it over to the DMV, I'm getting a new pic taken.  I always put "See Photo ID" on the back of my credit cards instead of signing them and I'm tired of explaining and getting strange looks when I pull out the liscense at the check-out.  I think I'll just try NA or none and see what they say.

I have to ask, why would a job application ask about hair colour?
Does it also ask about Race, age, and religion?
