Someone cheer me up...
« on: February 16, 2008, 11:14:39 AM »
I just broke up with my GF of 4 months.  Well the actual story is that I have been thinking of ending it for the last few weeks and was going to see what happenned on V-Day to make up my mind.  Well our V-Day was suppossed to be today and i got a voicemail message from her this morning saying she enjoyed our time together but wanted to see other people.  So she beat me to the punch.  I am still a bit hurt at the moment even though I knew what had to be done.  Sucks to be single again but what good is an emotionless GF anyway.  I am sure in a few days I will feel better but I am still in a bit of a shocked state.  Trying not to be depressed.

You were thinking of calling it quits. So think of like this way...she did YOU a favor. And since you were gonna celebrate V-Day today, she also saved you some big time bucks.

So cheer up. I'm sure there's some sweet gal out there just waiting for you. You were too good for her and you know it. You know the saying, "When one door closes another one opens." That door will open again very soon.

Thanks Tyro.  Something wierd just happened.  I got a myspace friend request from a woman in a nearby city going through the same stuff I am going through.  Just looking for friends etc.  Is that wierd or what.  We'll see what happens.  Thanks for the support guys.

Sounds intriguing, but just proceed with caution gsxr60097.

gsxr....no sweat, man.  big deal that she broke up with U 1st.  hey...look at it this way...she did U a favor.  now get back up and quit feeling sorry 4 yourself.  one of the beauties or positives is that U get back up your azz and keep your head up.  U r now free as a bird.  the ocean is full of "fishes".  get on the sailboat and go fishing.  man....don't make me have 2 tell U how 2 have a good time.  i'm a happily married man.  so....i live thru all of the young sly brothers like CHICOD.  just in case...u don't know chicod .... he is a young sly brother who embraces his baldness and is enjoying his sly single life as U should also.  anyways...get 2 fishing and don't ever look back.

Hey bro,

It was two days before the wedding when the girl I was going to marry bailed on me.  I was devastated.  :'(

A few years later, I met the woman I am now married to and I'm so so glad I didn't get married the first time!  We've been together for 37 years now... I think I'm gonna keep her!  :*))

You're gonna be just fine!  O0

I am kinda hurting today.  The story is we met on Yahoo.  2 weeks into the relationship she said she was cancelling the account.  Didn't think anything of it, thoughtful right.  Wrong.  She didn't cancel the account and she recently updated her profile and loaded some new pics.  One of them was a pic I took on New Years at my house!  Thats whats hurting me right now.  That and I didn't get any closure from her.  How do I deal with this?  I personnaly think she had too deep of feelings for me (she told me this) and I said I didn't want kids but thought of marriage way down the road.  She has one kid and didn't want anymore so that part was cool but she didn't ever want to marry again.  She thinks everyone is after her money or should I say inheritance when her grandparents die cause she is in bigtime debt right now.  What do you guys think of all this?

To me it sounds like she is only thinking of herself at the moment.  In which isnt a bad thing...but if you let it get in the way of relationships....especially if it is one that she wants to pursue.   Obviously though...she didnt want to continue on.  If she walked away from this relationship this easily...just think how easily she could have snuck around behind your back.  Just be glad she broke it off and didnt ( for as far as you know) didnt cheat on you.

GSXR-

What I think is that when you're a young guy, this kind of thing seems like the end of the world. Trust all of us when we say it's not.

Self-pity is very destructive. Turn the sadness and pain from the relationship breakup into a something positive. Go into the world with head held high and think to yourself, I'm the baddest mofo in the valley. The girls will fall at your feet. Confidence is something lacking in too many who chose to take the feel sorry for themselves route.

Chicks love a guy who is confident
