Same here. My weekends are short enough as it is. I don't have enough downtime to be wasting away on the couch... let alone the message it sends to the kids. I don't have a problem with having a drink or two in front of the kids, but never to the point where it affects my speech or thought. I had to laugh one time when I had 2 beers in front of my kids, and one looked at me and said, 'are you drunk yet?'
I used to take salt tablets after a night of drinking and it kept me from having bad hangovers but I haven't had any hangovers for over 20 years since I quit drinking all together.

I never get hangovers because a nice beer like Guinness won't do that to a man. But the lovely Mrs.Koz gets them about twice a year. She's usually miserable and I feel a lot better when I look at her and say, "Go back to sleep for a while"......
After a night of hard drinking before I retire I drink 20oz of water and take 2 BC powders. Never had a hang over since. I learned that from an old alcoholic. My uncle who used to drink 8oz tumblers of Jack for show
