As cheesy as it sounds, we got engaged on Valentine's Day (1995)..... so I better not forget it. We have two kids at home so we'll do something with the kids. My wife is big on Mexican food so I'll probably take her to her favorite mexican restaurant for dinner.

For Valentine's Day, the Lovely Mrs. Schro turns off the sprinklers for me when I sleep outside.
She's really thoughtful.....

Great topic, Warhawk.
I proposed on Valentine's Day in 1992. So it's always a memorable day. I'm kinda dragging my feet on what to do this year, but hey, it's still over a week away. I've got plenty of time.....(famous last words)......

I'm going to be in Milwaukee all next week. I have bought three cards, one for my wife and one for each kid, and am going to mail them from Milaukee on Monday so they will get them on Thursday.
I also am bringing the webcam so I can send her a video e-mail on Thursday telling her how much she means to me.

Yeah yeah GAS...we know what you are going to be doing on that webcam on Valentines Day Night! LOL..............you dirty dawg you! LOL.....I think i will sneak up to Milwaukee on Thursday night ..find the hotel you are staying at and pull the fire alarm on ya! LOL............
Not sure what we will be doing for valentines day..... I think we are just going to celebrate lincolns birthday this year instead...valentines day is over rated. But we will probably be out eating somewhere. My wife doesnt get roses for valentines day....at $75 bucks a pop....wasteful....she likes carnations....she says they last longer..in which they do. Last year her flowers lasted for 2 weeks almost 3.

My wife already helped herself to a Valentine's Day gift, so I'm off the hook......sorta. That also happens to be my mom and step-dad's anniversary, so we're having a party for their 10th.

BINGO. Roses are overrated. Carnations are much better, and you can get them in the same colors as roses... red, pink, white, yellow. We have a new kitten, and she and the other kitten get into anything with water, so we haven't had any flowers in the house for awhile.

My wife and I do not celebrate or recognize Valentines Day.
I believe it is a sham "holiday" created by the Retail Giants in the 20's to earn revenue. Why do we need 1 special day a year to do something nice with or for your significant other?

JDOG gets it exactly right! It's a BS day that's all about money for the card and candy companies. If you love your significant other it doesn't mean a thing. Of course if you forget it the previously mentioned significant other may toast your buns!
Seriously.... show the one you Love how you feel daily, you never know when you may get called Home.......

I agree ... It's a day that is built up mostly by the industries that benefit. I try that pitch with my wife every year, but she doesn't go for it. So, I play along but try to buy her practical gifts.
