Hi to all, and some advice to the newbies...
« on: February 04, 2008, 09:58:22 PM »
Hey everyone. I just joined the other day. I am 23 from New Hampshire and have been buzzing/shaving my head since I was 16. It has actually been over 3 years since I shaved my head "sly"...until tonight. I read so many of your posts yesterday that I decided I might as well take the plunge. But, I have to commisserate with all those on the fence...I buzz my head to a #000, and still it seems like a huge step even though its maybe two days at the most to get back to that. I think that some hair just provides a "comfort/security blanket" to many of us.

Unfortunatly, my head is already starting to show some bumps and acne from the razor shave which is why I can't STAY sly...my skin just isn't a fan of the razor, even if I am!

Tonight I shaved with the grain with a razor then used the Panasonic Wet Dry to finish the rest...I never thought an electric razor could get so short but baby, it can!

Anyway, just saying hi to everyone, and I'm glad to have joined the group to discuss and share...I actually took a video of shaving and I will send the link once youtube finally uploads it.

Welcome bro!  I wonder if there's a way we can help you relieve the irritation.  Post up your routine and we might be able to offer you some suggestions.

I had the same problem when I first started.  Apply clear head treatment by head blade right after shaving.  That really helped me.  After awhile I was able to use less and less.  Also if you put rubbing alcohol on your razor blades it kills all the bacteria on it and helps keep acne from starting.

If there is a way for you to stay sly these guys will know.

I would like to see that video if that Panasonic gets as close as a blade. Thanks.

Welcome!

Shaving with the grain actually causes me to break out, so shaving against slowly with less pressure on the blade might help out.

Your scalp may just need to build up some tolerance to the shave

Oh yeah, and welcome

Welcome dude!

Sometimes constant shaving it smooth can help if you accompany it with some acne fighting products...give it a go, you look real good with the bald head bro! O0
