We are the buckle in the Bible belt.  No way do we get to have that much fun and celebration.

Maybe not at home, but in New Orleans, everyone, and I do mean everyone, seems to leave their inhibitions behind and carry on something powerful.  Eat--Popeye's, King Cake, etc., Drink, beer, milk punch, ICBM's--Ice Cold Bloody Mary's, & be Merry--and everything else.  Just remember, Friends don't let Friends overdo Lent!

Sydney has its own version of Mardi Gras which I'm sure you are all aware of. LOL

It makes the San Fran pride parades pale in comparision from what I am told.

It's difficult to picture Amish people celebrating mardi gras ....   But, Amish people are pretty interesting.  I'm always fascinated by how they can live without electricity and gas-powered vehicles.

Yeah, I suppose it must be different when you're living around them.    My wife would probably take out one of those buggies the way she drives - really fast and all over the road.

In my part of Pennsylvania, today is FASNACHT Day. A fasnacht is basically a donut and fasnacht day is really a Fat Tuesday clone.

Que up the donuts.... I'm coming in!!!!!!!!
