Hey guys,
Don't ask why I haven't found this site all these years that I have been bald. I finally feel like I belong here with folks who understand each other.
Guys, I need your help! The baldness (since 2002) doesn't bother me, it's the super shine my noggin gives off that bothers me. I feel so conscious of the shine that most of the time except when dressed up for work or parties I wear a hat. So, in a way I'm still hiding my baldness, from whom I don't know.
I have a very supportive girlfriend whom I met in my full shiny baldness. Infact, a lot of women, I don't know if this is well known love bald heads.
But, my major problem as I said is the shininess on the head. Are there products out there that can reduce this shininess. Are there other guys out there who have gone what I am going through.
Thanks and I'll try reading other posts and getting to know as many personalties as I can.
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to finally meet a group of people I can relate with and who understand what it's like to be bald.
thanks
Johnny

Johnny,first off,welcome to the site.
As far as the shininess of your bald head, there are different products that you can get to combat that and give you a more matte dull look.
Try Bald Guyz Moisture Gel
http://www.baldguyz.comor even try adding a handful of Baby Powder to your dome to absorb the oils on your scalp.

Welcome Johnny,
I use two products from Matte For Men™.
Their "Anti-Oxidant Shave Gel" and "Complete Head Care Lotion".
The lotion is a fast absorbing, non-sticky formula that has been specifically developed for men that shave their head. It contains something called Mattection™ that works to control scalp shine and soothes razor burn.

Welcome Johnny glad you finally found us. Personally I love the shine and wouldn't change it so you will have to rely on the others for advice on cutting down the glare.

I'm with Paul, I love the shine!! In fact I'd like mine to shine as much as possible, I thought of useing Mop & Glow, or Turtle Wax

But seriously I do Love the shine. As for the dulling it down,,,, have you tried sand paper?

Just kidding bro, all the above mentioned products are great, you'll just have to experiment and see what works best with you.

SAND PAPER OR STEEL WOOL always seems to do the trick...lol
I like mine shiny....I get alot of compliments on it. Everyone ask me if I buff that "Baby" out everyday. I say nope....just natural shine....with the help of some aloe vera gel. Doesnt bother me too much...there are some days I wont put any gel on...but it still shines somewhat..

Welcome Johnny!
Like other Bros I like the shine of my shaved dome very much. There are no difficulties to find me in a crowd.
But sometimes I use HB Headlube Matte - it reduces the shine.
Keep on trying, you will find the best for you.

Welcome Johnny, I am with you, I prefer a dull dome to the shine.
I use headlube matte and am happy with it.

Hey thanks guys for the advice and support.
I'll try the headlube matte as suggested, will let you know.
I have a love and hate relationship with the shininess. Girls love it (I met my girlfriend this way), but when I'm in business meetings or at work, I don't want to outshine others..lol
Anyways, look forward to contributing to this forum

Hey Johnny, welcome to SBG's!. I say try both Headlubes; glossy and matte. I use both and it usually depends on how I feel. Both work very well. Also give the BaldGuyz moisturizer a go, it's a great product and absorbs quickly. I alternate all three.
Let us know how it goes for you.
