Being woken up in the middle of the night with a dog licking your scalp.
and you call this a disadvantage?

MARZ-
that would depend if the dog was his Labrador Retriever or the gal he picked up in the bar earlier in the evening....LOL
Dog breath, barfly chick breath.....probably not much of a difference at "Dark Thirty"
...barfly chick breath.....
Yummy ! .... stale cigarette breath, firmenting beer breath.....and some other guy's junk...breath

That was a rather unpleasant thought and accompanying image
I'm not a big fan of getting licked on the noggin, so I'd also say this is a disadvantage, though to each is own.
Well, when I got my cat as a kitten, I was already sly. Misha was very rowdy as a kitten. So somtimes she would get behind my headboard and tap me on the head with her claws. Head cuts are not fun! I guess that if it is the gal clawing you at "dark thirty" in the morning, it could be as painful!
RM, you painted too clear a picture .
I cant think of a negative of having a loving pet, I suppose being licked by a cat feels like sandpaper eh
Rob, bad image bro! aaargh! yech!, that's definitely not a good thought.
As far as a pet licking the noggin, I'm with Marz.
