If I ever look like that, I'm shaving my head

When I was 17 a saw a picture of a guy who had a horseshoe style with real long hair and a clump of hair growing out of the middle of his forehead. And when I saw that I thought. "If I ever look like that I am shaving my head." After a winter of bad hair days I decided that it was time. So, as of May 8th 2007, I have been shave smooth. I spent most of that evening looking in the mirror saying "I freakin' love it!" Mixed reactions...Wife-thinks it a phase, Uncle- thinks I have enough hair for a comb over, Three head rubs in the first week.

Ken, you're just about a week behind me. Been SLY since April 26th, 2007. I think I remember saying some of the same things. Just took a little while to finally figure out I'd reached that point and needed to pull the trigger.

July 1st 2007 for me. We were on vacation and I wanted to do it while on vacation so I could get used to it before all my friends and co-workers saw it. my wife gave me a Fusion Power razor while we were on vacation and I zipped my little bit of hair off. I immediately wanted to get back to work so i could see everyone's reactions.
It was so damn cool and i felt great about it.
I remember going to the pool a few hours after I did it and when I walked into the pool area I distinctly remember thinking "Here I am with my bad ass bald head world..... look at it and wish you had the confidence to do the same". i felt like a million bucks.

All of us here can really relate to that, and I still do it, but I'd bet all the rest of the guys also still do too. Welcome.

If you need a comb-over, you don't have enough hair!

Me too. Problem is that horseshoe look has a habit of sneaking up on you -- even when you're on the lookout for it. So a lot of us are off in our timing. We don't realize when we've reached the point of "looking like that."

Sounds crazy, but it's true, especially if you're thinning all over. You still have hair on top of your head and no true slick bald spots, and you don't realize how "see-through" it's become. But the important thing is not
when you go sly, it's that you get there eventually.
