Pweeeze Help!
« on: January 21, 2008, 06:58:30 PM »
Ok, heres the dealio

I usually try to shave at night at my bathroom sink, and it works fine and all, but i like that "just shave look" and the smell of my shavegel. I want to try to shave in the morning before school with my morning shower. I get up at six AM to be at school by seven. unfortunatly, my shower head puts out not that high of pressure, so I'd be worried that it would take FOREVER because it would take a while to wash the blades.

my questions are:

1. How much time in the morning should I leave to shave?
2. Is the low-pressure shower going to be an issue?
3. Where can I buy the HB brand blades
4. and do they come in a double instead of a triple blade

thanks fellow sly's!

I shave at the sink as soon as I get out of the shower in the mornings.   I never quite got the hang of shaving in the shower and don't have any place in in my stall shower to put the bottle of Headslick, the razor, etc.  The sink is just easier and it works fine for me.  It takes me about 10 minutes.  It's not something you want to rush, though.  It takes a little longer to do in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it and become more skilled, you'll be able to do it faster.

The Headblade uses Gillette Atra blades, and yes, they come in doubles as well as triples.

1. It takes me about 15 min to shave and about 30 min for the whole routine.

2. As long as it's enough pressure to clean the blade you should be fine.  You may want to see if there's a pressure washer that you can remove to give you some better pressure.  They're often put in to lower your water consumption.

3. You can only buy the HB brand blades at http://www.headblade.com.  Use MYSPACE as a coupon to get 20% off.

4. Yep, they come in double!

k thanks guys, I've heard that the Atra blades aren't very good, meaning they can knick easily, I right now like the HB brand blade, should I just stick with it??? and how often should I change it if I shave 3 days a week?

I find that shower shaving is the best for me.  What I mean by that is I really like to get sloppy.  That way im in the shower and dont have to worry about getting it everywhere.....and that takes more time.  My head is soaking while im washing off and when im done the head is ready to be shaved.  Slap on the lotion and start shaving away.  Easier to rinse the head in the shower also.  Just do what ever you feel comfortable with,  and just try holding the headblade closer to the shower head to rinse the blades.  You dont have to have them completely clean for each stroke ....but you dont want your blades to clog.  THat only causes you to have to go over your head a few more passes to get it smooth.  For me it only takes me about 5 minutes to shave my noggin and then once im out...all i do is slap on some clear aloe vera gel and IM good to go.  I havent had to use those exfoliants and stuff like that.  My head doesnt get flakey or anything as long as I have the aloe on.  Winter time here and the heat in the house tends to dry your skin out anyways....so some kind of lotion is needed for that.   Good luck...just experiment and if you find any new ideas or any time saving ones...please share...

3 days a week???  I shave every day cause I liek the smoothness.  I use the persona brands at walmart and they are triple blades.  I have alot of luck with those.  They come in a 4 pack and i can get away with about 3 weeks of shaving everyday on one blade.  Speaking of im on about week #2 on my last blade...need to run to wally world and get more.  They only run about 4 bucks.

I'm not a Headblade user; I didn't know they had their own blades now.  I have tried it with the regular Atra blades, which were a bit irritating to my skin.  If the HB brand is working for you, then by all means stick with it.  As for how often you should change the blade, that varies from individual to individual.  It all depends on the texture of your hair and how much hair you have to shave.  I'm guessing you have a fair amount to shave at your age.

I suggest that you shave more often than 3 days a week.  The shaving goes faster if you have less stubble to remove each day and I think you'll be less likely to nick yourself if there's less resistance against the razor.  Besides, it feels really great to be smooth and you need to experience that more than 3 days a week.

I guess it depends on how bad the nick is.  If you think you can shave without re-opening it everytime, then go ahead.

How do you plan on getting your bro back?
