my first night on the town sly
« on: January 15, 2008, 11:54:12 AM »
warning: may be a bit lengthy

well, i'm back at school and showing off my head to anyone who isn't blinded by the glare. you can never really predict how your shiny head will affect people until you buck up and present the look for all to see and judge. so here's a story of a sly college dude's night at the bars (it was pretty awesome, so enjoy!)

ok so i head over to this bar for some drinks with my boys (only two knew of my "secret"). anyways we get there, i rip of the winter cap and sit down and just start chattin it up. my one friend's eyes light up :o and he goes "what the hell! whyyy did you do that??" i just started laughing and shrugged "cuz i felt like it!"  my other friend was like "bald heads look so smooth, but they feel like sandpaper" haha! i told him "uhhh feel it, you'll be suprised" he did and he got a huge smile on his face and exclaims "wow! it's soo smooth, thats crazy" anyways, thoughout our time at this place i saw a few people i knew and got many doubletakes ("whoa, i didn't even recognize you!") most of the comments were more of surprise and confusion rather than positive or negative (unfortunately no "i like it!" or "looks good!" though, no biggie) there was some good-natured teasing (apparently i'm now the lead singer of the smashing pumpkins, as well as neonazi ed norton a la american history x)

anyways so we go to another bar after a bit and the ID checker at the door was a sly guy! when he was looking at my ID i go "nice do!" and he let out a little laugh. so we're chillin here for a bit talking about how to talk to girls, and i say something like oh it's just evolution man. monkeys know how to do it, lions know how to do it, so it cant be that hard to get chicks. see, the man who talks to girls has a way better chance than the guys who sit at a table hoping girls will come to them (like we were doing cuz we're noobs). and my friend, now a bit drunk, says something nonsensical (well, to be fair the entire conversation kind of was)  along the lines of no no no evolution can't be right because you shaved your head and look like an idiot. (i was like ummmm ok man ?? thanks?)

so i go to the bathroom and when i come back some bennie and the jets is playin so i get my groove on and dance my way back to our table (bar wasn't too busy and people were sitting at booths or tables, cuz its a tavern style bar... i say this to illustrate that my dancing kind of stood out as there was nobody else dancing). well this elicited some laughs from my friends. they were like "you got a lot of attention from those girls over there, they were loving it"....

sooooo...our waiter guy came over and was like "hey guys here's the deal: those girls over there said they'll let you join them and buy them drinks... but only if he (points to me) dances again" hahahha my friends and i just started cracking up and i'm like, well .... guess i gotta do it, anyone coming with me?. (no, i have no rhythm, i cant dance, you were too good, blah blah excuses) so i went back out to the floor and started groovin again. the girls were lovin' it so i sat down with them and started chatting it up. my friends were in awe. slowly, one by one they built up their courage and made their way over during a ten minute time span (and looked like totally noobs, at that).  a few rounds and some phone numbers later, i was feeling pretty good about myself.

*note: there's more to the story because at this point its barely midnight and we still had two more hours until the bars closed! i'll update that later cuz this is long as it is

 There you go Dino!  Nice!
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.
