shaving the back of the head

Which way do you guys shave the back of the head?  Do you start from the crown & go down to the neck or start at the neck & go up to the crown.  Thanks in advance.

I start at the neck and go up to the crown shaving against the grain.  I also do it first so the headslick doesn't wash off before I can get to it.

Actually every possible way on the pesky crown...

but I go against always so for the most part bottom to top...

and then every which way again! ;)

Several single strokes from the front of the head to the nape of the neck, then from the nape of the neck to the crown--against the grain.  In the crown, or hole, I have a coin shaped area w/ hair that grows every which way and it takes strokes form all angles to get it smooth.  I've got spotty and sparse growth on top, and all stands straight up so I don't need "against the grain" there.

Neck to the crown here. But then I have to go crown to neck to remove stubble from a crease along the back of my head.   Like saintc, I have to go every which way at that darn dip in the crown.

Just flip the HeadBlade around and go neck to crown. No problems, no worries.

neck to crown ...all the way baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  always against the grain.....oh yeah.....i can feel it all coming off now! LOL....I too like GAS shave the back first..so the shower doesnt rinse off all the Headslick...

Top of the head down to the neck with the grain, then in an "X" shape going against the grain.  I find that doing it this way gets the smoothest shave (for me) ;-)

Neck to crown. Side to side to touch up any rough spots.

Crown to neck seems to grab the "scruff" and cut it.

Neck to crown, and I always start in the back as well. I go against the grain in the back.
