A sad story about a dog (if you have a weak stomach may not want to read)

So Saturday a good friend of mine calls and asks if we are still considering a second dog, and tells me a friend of his wife’s sister has an 8 month old chocolate lab (he looks more like a golden reteriver with a chocolate lab’s nose colour) named Jax, that is going to be homeless by the end of the weekend cause she is moving and the sister can’t have it in her tiny apartment. So we think about it, go see the dog and he seems to be a real sweet pup, and he gets along great with my pup.
We agree to hold him for the time being and if in a week we want him he fits into our life we’ll keep him. We get him home and notice he’s super skid dish. Didn’t like leaving the room he was in, and would just put his front 2 paws in that room and than stretch leaving his hind paws in the original room, took a lot of enticing to get him into another room.
About 30 minutes go by and we see him getting use to us a little more, than I feed him, and he inhales some puppy chow. Than I notice his ribs?? A lab’s ribs didn’t know they existed… and so I examine him a little more, oh no I can feel his spin and his hips. I now clue in I didn’t examine him very well.
I call the sister of the owner and ask about vet records because well we want to make sure he’s healthy and she “doesn’t have any” but tells me the vet she took them too and the name they would be under.
Ok fine I think we’ll get a check up the next day and get him gaining weight.
Well at 1AM I hear him wining in the kennel down stairs so I go let him out, he didn’t use the bathroom the whole time he was home with us got him out side he did his thing and I put him back in.
Randomly throughout the night I hear him wine and I think well new house, he’s lonely and scared and just wants attention so I left him and he stopped.
(gets gross)
I wake up at around 7AM to go to the gym like planned. When I walk down the stair I get a nasty whiff of something I am unsure of. I look in his kennel and see that he pooped in there and it was nasty and so foul. I drag the kennel to the back door and open it so he has no choice but going out side. And lock him outside than I go downstairs with the kennel and hose it out for the next hour getting it clean, there were 2 worms in there with it all.
He’s a mess full of well. You get the idea. We call the vet and get him in there ASAP. The vet looks him over we test for parvo and he does not have it, the Vet can’t find his med records they are under a different persons name maybe… but no under hers… so we are unsure if he’s had any needles, or de-worming.
We pay about $130 for the vet check-up, we got them to bathe him, and gave him worm medicine and anti-bacterial pills to stop him from getting ill anymore. During the bath they discover that he his testicles are raw and so is his anus, to the point where he snapped at them when they put medicine on for him.
When my girlfriend got home with him she calls a lady she works with that rescues so she calls her and tells her what we have so she comes to see the dog, and does a few temper tests with him and realizes what a sweet dog we have on our hands.
She is going to help us get Chance a home. His new name is Chance because he’s going to get a second chance at having a good life. He has a sweet disposition and going to make a good pet just to someone that has sometime to house break a 8 month old puppie he doesn’t appear to be house broken to me.
So I think I saved a life and it’s a high, man beats drugs and booze man. Any sly guys have time for a sweet pooch?

Wow bro! That's a tough thing to hear about that little pup. If I was in your area I'd talk my wife into taking him. We have a great dog right now, half german shephard, half golden retriever.

Jdog it would be a fortune i could only imagine and not to mention he'd have to be in isolation for 2 weeks to ensure he's not ill with weird canadian dog dieases.
I'll keep you posted on Chances road to recovery.

Well Chance has been here a week, and has settled down very nicely. Hasn't peed on the floor since his second day, his nose is wet and cold like a dog's should be. He and Cayden get along great together, and he's starting to put on weight, we can no longer see his ribs, and when he's laying down he will roll on his back and allow me to rub his tummy. Talking to my dog professional (the trainer helpping us with Cayden). she thinks Chance will all but froget his past and be able to move on. He's already sitting on command and giving paw.
Chance also is not jumping up on the counters anymore, we are hesisant leaving food on them with him around he has stolen bread off it before.
Boys i've fallen in love with this dog.

thanks boys, but i'm not doing anything i think a decent human should do. He's going to make some family very happy. I think he'd be great with kids 12+ cause he's a little grabby with treats and what not.... he may accidently hurt younger children, but boys he's so sweet.

Chance isn't doing well this week. stopped eating Wednesday and been in the vet since thursday becuase he was throwing up, thankfully a local rescue is paying these vet bills. He started pulling around today they said, and is eating and keeping it down so they are hoping he'll pass what ever is in his stomach, the x-ray showed something just unsure what it is.
