you could just hang a beer on a stick and tape it to yer back. that way the beer hangs just out of reach and you could chase the beer. gives you some incentive. just a thought. j/k bro. keep at it. you will do fine. good luck

Motivation....Iron Maiden's "Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner". Off their "Somewhere in Time" Album.
Great song for running.

Good going RM.  for more motivation how about theme from Rocky?   Also be sure to carb load on Thurs for the run Friday and give those muscles a rest on Thurs.   Best of luck.  Will be rootin' for ya.

Thanks, matey.......so you can carb load the day/night before?  What?...oatmeal?...pasta?

Seems like pasta and breads would be more "simple" carbs that burn off too quickly.   I have to have an empty stomach the day of.

I've been trying this stuff (see link) for super B vitamin energy....works GREAT!!!

Yeah, I got my iPod loaded with 155 beats per minute paced motivational stuff like you hear in aerobics/spinning classes.   Maybe I could add the Rocky theme for my last couple laps when I'll be DYING.

Concept is to avoid the protein instead brown rice, whole wheat, etc.  Not that you'll need it, you'll kick a$$ by sheer motivation alone...just stay focused.  You got it bro. O0

Okay, mateys....

As you can see by my little countdown thingy, my test is just around the corner (on Saturday).  Today will be the first day I actually go the full 6 laps.  Then I will rest tomorrow and carb up for Saturday.

Feelin' good.  The Lord has allowed me not to get sick or injured (which I was slightly concerned about).  Cleared the work schedule until next week, so I can stay laser focused, man.

I did add the Rocky theme to the end of my running set on my iPod.   MAN!!....I forgot how cool that ol' tune really is!  That will get me through the last lap when I really have to pour it on to the finish line.  Good call, Paul.  Too bad there's not the Philadelphia Art Museum next to the finish line.  ;D

Best of luck to you RobM. Know at the back of your mind during the test what you are wanting and take it. Fear is the Mind Killer bro.

Actually you guys made me laught as it made me remember the best time I ever had on a military obstacle course run.  It was in Pennsacola at AirCrew Candidate school.  I beat my own best time by 2:30 minutes.  I thought I had failed.   All because I had a tremendous load of alcohol still in my system from massive partying the night before.  SO YES.  KETEL is CARBS.
